One Idaho couple's property rights battle with the government has reached the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mike and Chantell Sackett bought land in Priest Lake, Idaho, to build their dream home in a residential development.

As the Sacketts were preparing to build, however, the Environmental Protection Agency blocked them.

EPA officials informed them their property is protected wetlands and accused them of violating the Clean Water Act.

The agency then threatened to fine them $37,000 a day.

"Bullying, that's what the EPA does," Chantell Sackett told Spokane, Wash., TV station KXLY.

"Bullying, that's what the EPA does,"

That's what govt does and We The People pay em to do it! IRS, ATF, FBI, DOJ and on and on and on.

In case anyone hasn't heard: when these goofy lefties talk about 'wetlands' they're mostly talking about swamps.

Our 'rights' are eroding by the day. Thin edge of the wedge. Slow drop at a time. Degree at a time.

For the EPA to prohibit fair use of the land is a “Taking without just compensation” prohibited by the Fifth amendment.

"Wetland" is just another tool of U.N. Agenda 21 advocates. Everyone who thinks this is something that doesn't effect them had better wake the hell up, NOW!

"Land…cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth, therefore contributes to social injustice." —U.N. Agenda 21 - ICLEI protocol

The people that live and breathe this rubbish are all over your community. They staff your planning and zoning departments, city councils and county governments.

think locally too....here, we have people that drive around looking for noxious weeds and send out warnings to people or they will be charged..

..you have Labor and Industries going around and seemingly picking and choosing what industries to harass....two disgruntled employees at my husbands work secretly reported some odd little thing in order to make trouble...and right on cue, the L+I guy was there....coming back every few days to make sure everything was "okay"....

govt is into every expenditure, every sale, every CC purchase, every check cashed, every savings accout, every retirement account, every medical procedure or drugs you are prescribed....

there is NOTHING for all practical purposes that govt hasn't got its sticky little fingers and prying eyes into....except a few well known activities...

“For the EPA to prohibit fair use of the land is a “Taking without just compensation” prohibited by the Fifth amendment.”

Where do they get their authority to operate outside the bounds of the District of Columbia?

***Mike and Chantell Sackett bought land in Priest Lake, Idaho, to build their dream home in a residential development.***

An existing residential development would surely have already been approved and zoned for wells, septics and/or public water & sewer. Or are they the first residents?

And they do work for a few constituents who want no domestic competition.

There was a sewer and water hookup and they had county building permit. According to this: http://green.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/04/20/wetlands-what-wetlands/

Prime example of the EPA run amuck. They should be limited to nor more than 5 employees. I think that would limit the damage they can do.
