Fact Check! Herman Cain’s Ice Cream Meltdown (BARF alert!!!)
ABC News ^ | Oct 13, 2011 | By John Berman

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain might be in the midst of his campaign’s first crisis, all thanks to ice cream.

Now leading in at least one national poll, Cain is frequently asked if he is the new political flavor of the month. Cain’s canned response is: “Haagen-Dazs black walnut tastes good all the time.”

Here’s the problem: Haagen Dazs no longer makes black walnut ice cream. It was a limited edition, and is no longer available. So, in a manner of speaking, you might say that Haagen Dazs black walnut was – by definition – a flavor of the month.

I don’t care if it’s no longer made or not, I’ll bet you that PJ-Comix has got a coupon for it nonetheless.

And in other important news... do y’all remember when Blue Bell quit making Butter Pecan because pecans got too expensive? I thought there was going to be a run on Brenham, Texas and blood in the streets over that one!

My favorite though is still Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough... I can’t allow the wife to buy it though ‘cause I have no self control for it. Same for Red Man Gold... just gotta quit cold turkey.

Yes, the lamestream media IS that nitpicky when it comes to republicans.

Meanwhile, where are the stories about “Fast and Furious”? Where is Obama’s college records?

Thing is: President Obama knows all about ice-cream (his economics, history, international politics are a bit hazier)

A limited edition can’t be your favorite? Somebody check the rule book.

The wife and I were highly upset when we found that they had ceased production. It truly was a tasy treat.

I have a bowl-short container of Black Walnut from Kroger in my freezer. It's been there for six months. It's not what Black Walnut ice cream should be. The good true favorites of legend are being replaced by god awful train wrecks. Moose Track Fudge Snicker Slide, and Tibeten Fudge Raspberry Alloverberry Supreme.

Simple is best.

Breyers Coffee is a good one. 31 Flavors used to have a dark fudge ice cream with coffee grounds in it. I’ve completely forgotten the name, (I know the word “Java” was in it) but OMG, Becky! Yummy.

If I cannot obtain Breyers Coffee, I buy Breyers Vanilla and make a pot of espresso. I freeze the espresso (and anytime you have left over pressed coffee or espresso you freeze it) into ice cubes. I then place three espresso ice cubes into a dish. When they are about half melted I add two scoops of Breyers Vanilla.

Some very nice ice cream.

Obviously, if he doesn’t know they do not currently have black walnut ice cream, he is unsuitable to become president. (extreme sarcasm)
