Norquist: 9-9-9 puts 3 needles in taxpayer's arm
Washington Examiner ^ | October 13, 2011 | Joel Gehrke

Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, hit the two leading Republican presidential candidates this morning - one for spending issues and the other on his much-discussed tax plan.

Former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., "thinks there's some sort of virtue in not criticizing Bush's [big spending] mistakes," Norquist said. Romney could correct that mistake, but Norquist was even less sanguine about Cain's 9-9-9 plan. "Having three taxes, all of which can grow - it's like having three needles in your arm taking blood out, it's much more dangerous than having one," Norquist explained.

Norquist praised Cain for trying to get rid of a "redistributionist" tax code, but warned that Congress could hijack Cain's plan. "What if the Demcrats win the House, the Senate, or the presidency . . . and say let's keep all three [taxes]?" Grover asked. "All three would grow over time."

The next president doesn't need a visionary tax plan, Norquist said, but should just start "chipping away" at the current tax code to lower existing taxes. "We have a Republican House, we will have a Republican Senate, they will fix the tax code and send [the president] stuff to sign . . .

Yeah, right.

All tax plans I’ve seen have taxes that ‘can grow’, at least the 999 is clear enough and reduces a lot of the regulation and tax power (such as requiring 2/3rds vote for any increases).

Three needles is a good medical analogy considering we need some fixing versus the gun to our head the current tax structure provides.

Well Grover, I just took a look at the hubby’s paycheck stub and counted 5 needles in our arm. Obviously you think that’s a better situation.

9-9-9 is sounding better all the time.

“NAN, NAN, NAN!”, ain’t it—as they say in the sticks. Conservatives DO NOT RUN ON TAXES, for crying out loud. Conservatives do not seek warmth with the only socialist among the field, either! (Romney)

Conservatives run on reducing taxes and the burden of tax regulation, both of which the 999 plan does. It is a massive decrease in both.

..and Conservatives run on tax policy all the time, the flat tax and fair tax are our common platforms. At that, Steve Forbes referred to the 999 plan as a logical step towards one of those programs and said it was a good deal.

Grover Norquist, good grief. Here are two people who've come out in support of Herman Cain's 9-9-9 plan, and who represent good, conservative ideas...

Paul Ryan

Art Laffer

I'm curious why you didn't post these...Nah, I'm not.

You're in good company. I've not found hardly any Grover fans on FR. If you know about Grover's Gay and Islamic connections and what he and Keene have done to CPAC, no conservative should be a fan of his.

If Grover doesn't like 9-9-9, that means it's a good thing.

Norquist labeled the attempts to remove tax credits for biofuels as a tax increase.

What a tool.

The point is that “nan, nan, nan” is but the door to each of “nans” to RISE, RISE, RISE. Never.

i’ll see your Grover, and raise you a Laffer and a Ryan:

Art Laffer endorses Herman Cain’s 999 plan

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2792277/posts
Paul Ryan ‘loves’ Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 tax plan

=
...and again, TWO of the “3 needles” would eventually be removed
(as you already know):

It is only the beginning, of the plan to eliminate the IRS, and reduce our tax burden:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2791979/posts

Phase 2 of Cain’s 999 plan: The FairTax!
“Few seem to know it, but Phase 2 of Cain’s 999 plan is the FairTax. Cain’s website says the following about the FairTax:
1.) Amidst a backdrop of the economic boom created by the Phase 1 Enhanced Plan, I will begin the process of educating the American people on the benefits of continuing the next step to the Fair Tax.
2.) The Fair Tax would ultimately replace individual and corporate income taxes.
3.) It would make it possible to end the IRS as we know it.
4.) The Fair Tax makes our exported goods and services the most competitively internationally than any other tax system.”

The 9% sales tax might regressive in some peoples’ minds, but the almost 50% who don’t pay federal income taxes would have skin in the game.

i agree. and like Perry, Grover is “friends” with Islam.
(if Grover’s wife is still Muslim, then according to Islam, Grover would have had to convert, at least secretly.)

Islam is still the biggest threat to our very existence.
Look what happened to France and England in just a few decades.
10 million in France in “no-go” zones. living off of French taxpayers.

and it is already happening here. We have Gulen Islamist schools in Texas and across the USA, and operating Sharia courts with their address listed in Texas court papers.
(and almost 1 million Muslims in Texas alone...
...but 99% won’t become violent...right? )

lots of people like Grover are against higher taxes.
but i don’t trust anyone who praises Islam and is “buddies” with C.A.I.R.
