It’s called harm reduction. If God in the Old Testament incorporated harm reduction in His dealings with Ancient Israel, shouldn’t we consider the same thing?

I’m not pro-drug, but I recognize that if somebody is going to die to get their high, I’d rather have them get their high without that happening.

These gangs are working to create drugs that are addictive enough that even touching them could be enough to get you addicted, so even if you are stridently against drugs and would never do them, you could find yourself with an unbeatable addiction.

Speaking of biblical times, I was wondering if they had anything like our drug prohibition. I know that public drunkenness was punished, but was the use/sale/possession of any intoxicants against the law back then?

If not, was there any suggestion in the Bible that such laws should be in place?
