Senator Edward M. Kennedy and his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, met in debate tonight and staged a generally pallid battle pf policy details... The only heated confrontation was over crime, after Mr. Romney said Mr. Kennedy was too soft... Mr. Kennedy then demanded to know where Mr. Romney stood on banning cheap handguns...

I don’t think that Edward M. Kennedy (Ted) was ever successful in fully pinning Romney down on if he supported banning cheap handguns. Romney was too evasive, too slick, too squirmy.
I will not under any circumstances vote for this worm who will say or promise anything to get elected:

Watch it all the way.
bttt
Romney is simply an unprincipled liar. FUMR!!
If Romney becomes the Republican candidate in 2012, it will be just another McCain moment.
Not that I support Romney , but say isn’t Adam Clymer, the guy GWB said was a “major league ******* from the New York Times.”
Adam Clymer is a major league clymer.
Has a southern orifice named after him to prove it.
I dunno.
Regardless, both sides have journalists, columnists, etc, that keep track of things that some politicians would rather that they didn’t.
This may be a man from the left that was a thorn in Bush’s side, just as Rush, Hannity, Malkin and so on are thorns in the sides of lefties in their own right.
Good may come out of this, though. Imagine, a man who may have been a thorn to Bush recording info then, now detrimental and politically damaging to Romney.
But just imagine, that major leaguer having recorded info then that works to the benefit of conservatives opposed to Romney getting the nomination.
How rich.
Flip, meet Flop.
He also attacked Forbes for the flat tax.
Other Myth highlights from that campaign:
“I was an independent during Reagan-Bush I don’t want to go back to Reagan-Bush.”
“I love fags, I’ll be much better for gay rights than Ted Kennedy” (okay this one is a paraphrase ;) )
Anyone contemplating Romney as his candidate needs to Google “Kennedy Romney Debate 1994”. Watch the various videos turned up. Therein you will see the true Romney. You will see that whenever he’s pressured his natural instinct is to move sharply left. His guiding philosophy is of elitist, feudal control over the masses. He imagines himself a conservative but his fundamental impulse is always to take the course of less liberty, more control. Like all the self-appointed elite, he thinks it his role to play a giant SIMs game with us as pawns.
Etch a Sketch.
