LOL! The Spread Eagle Tavern is a rural, Conservative place, and I don't think that they know what escargot is.

I have eaten it just once in my life, and the next time I want pencil eraser, I may eat it again. Or just stick to the pencil eraser. It's cheaper, and it tastes the same.

I had steak, mushrooms, veggies, and a glass of nice, red wine from Napa, California. Hubby had the special, leg of lamb, potatoes, veggies, and a glass of the wine.

As an aside, I got a ping from someone who "educated" me about snails -- they are hermaphrodites. I've been around the Horn a few times, and I know all about snails, LOL! I told the kindly person that. I really hope that the poster understood the friendly nature of my reply.
