We also have no food or medicine sales tax here in Florida. So under the 999 plan both would be taxed at 9% and we STILL would have an income tax? Like I posted, one of the 9s in 999 has to go.

You would still have a greatly reduced income tax. Unless, of course, you are one of those living off the top 50%.

Nor does this mean the sales tax would go 9 to 10 to 11%. People don’t SEE their income tax. It is withheld, and a lot of folks look forward to getting a check from the government, never realizing that means they SENT a whole lot more to it.

With a sales tax, EVERYONE sees, daily, what they are paying in taxes. Getting a sales tax increased is tough, since those who do tend to get thrown out of office the next election.
