Announcing his endorsement of Mitt Romney in a press conference in New Hampshire this afternoon, Chris Christie described the endorsement as an easy decision.
Citing Romneys experience as an executive in both the political and private sectors, Christie emphasized the need for a candidate who was ready to assume office and could beat President Obama in the general election.
The biggest reason why I want to support Gov. Romney is because I believe hes the best person to be able to articulate Republican values and defeat Barack Obama in November of 2012, Christie said, mentioning Romneys detailed jobs plan and template for replacing Obamacare.
People who run for president of the United States because they think in their minds, I think I can win, I hope Im ready, which is what the president of the United States did four years ago are acting irresponsibly, Christie added. Mitt Romney says, I hope I can win, I know Im ready. Thats the big difference. Thats what the American people will see this November, and thats why theyre going to elect him president of the United States.
Speaking about Romneys Massachusetts health-care program, Christie said it was completely intellectually dishonest to compare it to Obamacare.
Gov. Romney did not raise one tax in doing what he did in trying to improve the health-care system in Massachusetts, Christie said. I will tell you, that Im proud of him for standing up for doing what he believes is right.
The president of the United States is raising taxes over and over again to pay for this plan he still wont pay for. What Gov. Romney did was what he believed was responsible as governor of Massachusetts to allow people to have access to health care. All the governors should have that opportunity to make that judgment on their own, continued Christie, who emphasized that he believed each state should be allowed to put forward their own health-care solutions.
What a surprise....duh. The only thing Christie is conservative about is a good balance sheet, the rest is pure RINO.
Does the idiot governor of New Jersey have anything else to do but run around the country endorsing candidates and boring everyone to tears with his 45-minute farewell speeches?
I am embarrassed to admit that I voted for this jerk. It speaks volumes about the governorship of Jon Corzine that I went to the polls for this boob.
Herman Cain! with Marco Rubio as VP!
That said, if it comes down to Romney and Bowbama, of course I'll back Romney...reluctantly!
Time to end the RINO’s (GOP elitist)control of Washington!
Wonder which East Coast RINO is going to endorse Mittens the same day of the next debate?
I’ve sure Fat Boy gave Romney a pre-debate psychological boost with that.
Isn’t it amazing with such a flawed President as we have, the best we likely will do is Romney as an opponent? I’m not throwing in the towel on Cain yet, but I’m realistic in realizing his chances.
The Republican Party seems to be begging for a Third Party challenger, and they are increasingly likely to get their wish.
Does Christie actually think these comments are going to help Romney?
Who are “The Republican elite” who are pushing Romney?
Wow!
Wonder what Mark Levin’s listeners think about this?

If Romney articulates Republican values, then the Pubbie Party is dead, and deservedly so. Faced with the terrifying possibility that a Tea Party candidate-- of the people, by the people, for the people-- might be nominated, and with Myth Romney and Slick Rick Perry fizzling out, the country clubbers tried to foist this fat slob on us.
If there was one REAL reporter in the world he would ask Christie two questions:
1) Would you support anyone running for president who practices a religion that wants to kill everyone who does not practice that religion?
2) Would you support anyone running for president who practices a religion that believes women cannot obtain a position in paradise equal to men?
So you bring weight into it? That’s uncalled for. Why are you getting so upset over an endorsement?
I have to say, I’m greatly disappointed.
Because there is only one Ron Paul, thank God.
My current tagline says all I have to say about this subject.
Christie, not content to simply shoot himself in the foot with the conservatives here, just BLEW OFF THE LOWER HALF OF HIS BODY.
