I can’t believe no one has shown up to start ripping Rick Perry up.

I am amazed at all the Perry hate on here. Many have gone from being certain Palin was going to ride in and win, and have now pinned all their hopes on Cain. The reality is, Perry is probably the only person in the race that can raise the money and put together the state organizations necessary to actually prevent Romney from getting the nomination.

I can understand not being enthusiastic about Perry. I agree his debate performances were poor and some of his immigration positions are not very good, but he is mostly very conservative and is a 3 term governor with a proven track record of actually being able to win elections.

I'm betting in a few weeks/months, Cain's boomlet will evaporate once he's subjected to intense scrutiny, and people are going to wish they didn't spend all their time savaging Perry because he's probably the only one that can realistically stop Romney.

Because many of us are just “Heartless” and want the illegals out, instead of subsidizing them.

Proven track record on winning elections? He had no Republican challenger in 2002, in 2006 his closest challenger in the primary was a secessionist who didn't crack 10% of the vote, and while Perry ran away with the general election with 39% of the vote, jump ahead to 2010 and Perry faces...Kay Bailey Hutchison and then a Clinton insider. Perry has had it easy.

Today is my grandchild's birthday, and I'd like to remind people that for 7 years, under Rick Perry, the State of Texas collected DNA from children without the consent or knowledge of parents. This was above and beyond the blood tests that are taken - this was the storing of DNA samples of millions of babies. The state knew it was wrong - they asked Texas A&M not to publicly mention it because they knew there would be a public outcry. What did Rick Perry do when the public discovered? He remained silent and let the state spend taxpayer money trying to fight the lawsuits before quickly settling.

Yes, Perry is the only one who can stop Romney. You know what they say about the blind leading the blind.

“I am amazed at all the Perry hate on here.”

I wonder the same thing. Seems like there’s some who hate him more than Romney. He’s the best choice to beat Romney and then Obama. If he’s said a few things that grate conservatives, keep in mind these same things will win independents and moderate dems who hate Obama.

Very good analysis. I hope that the primaries voters would wake up before it is too late and Romney is the nominee.
