Mitt Romney's affection for Herman Cain has been well documented, at POLITICO and elsewhere. Romney took it to the next level at a New Hampshire town hall this evening.
"We each have our own experiences, hes a great guy. Vote for either one of us and youll be happy," Romney said, per POLITICO's Reid Epstein.
Romney also called Cain a "terrific guy" and said voters should "give him a good look."
That's not something Romney would say about a candidate he views as a real threat, and it's a reminder of how much Cain's rise has been mutually beneficial to both him and Romney.

FUMR!! It’ll be a cold day in hell!!
Im voting for Cain, not Romney. What’s so difficult???
Romney, seeing that Cain has now toppled Perry in the polls realizes that he is next. He’s trying to blunt that. The best thing for Romneys’ chances now is for Perry to stay in the race as long as possible.
Anything to keep conservatives from coalescing on one candidate and beating his RINO hide.
This is incredibly frustrating. We’re going to do it again, aren’t we? We’re going to get the RINO the nomination.
You mean we get a two for one? How can we go wrong?
Cain endorsed Romney and now Romney has returned the favor.
Did you mean like Huckabee siphoning support in 2008? That would be amusing since it was McCain that was listed as the second choice of most Huckabee supporters in the early primaries’ exit polls.
Don’t want a RINO, don’t voter for Mitt Perry.
I’m leaning heavily toward Cain.
Mitt’s a lot of things, but he’s smart.
I think he sees Cain as the secret ingredient.
Mitt’s gambling with this. He may end up Cain’s VP.
Obviously Romney feels quite certain a vote for Cain is a vote for Romney. It’s not “rocket science.”
A truly dizzying analysis, and one Romney certainly appreciates your putting forth.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

Romney thanks you for your support.
Mitt as Cain’s VP?
You would accept that?
Wow, he sure sucked you in. LOL!
Wow, he sure sucked you in. LOL!
The even weirder thing is, Perry is ignoring the surging Cain even though the polls clearly suggest that most of Cain’s gain has come at the expense of Perry. In short, neither of the well-monied establishment candidates is trying to blunt Cain’s momentum. What’s THAT all about?
Wow, he sure sucked you in. LOL!
