Death Toll Rises in Egypt Christian Clashes as Tension Continues
CNN ^ | October 10, 2011 | Mohamed Fadel Fahmy

The number of dead in clashes between the army and pro-Coptic Christian protesters in Egypt over the weekend rose to at least 25, with at least 272 wounded, a Health Ministry official told CNN Monday.

Conflicting reports from the two sides indicated the death toll could be as high as 29 in violence that an army spokesman speculated may have been guided by a "hidden hand" associated with neither side.

Many of the casualties had been crushed by speeding military vehicles, said Dr. Adel al-Dawi of the ministry.

The violence -- the deadliest in Egypt since President Hosni Mubarak was toppled by a popular revolution in February -- has returned the country to the tense period before the uprising, Prime Minister Essam Sharaf said Monday.

"Instead of going forward, we found ourselves scrambling for security," Sharaf said Monday on state television, noting that the incident had produced "martyrs, both civilian and from the military."

Hundreds of Coptic Christians rallied Monday outside a hospital, chanting "The army has its tanks but we have our prayers."

Some Muslims attended the rally in an expression of solidarity with Christians.

Egyptian security sources said stones were thrown at the rally, but a CNN reporter saw no evidence of that.

A little known fact about the vehement intolerance of Muslims towards Coptic Chrtistians in Egypt was the taking down of the protective wall very soon after Mubarak was deposed set up to prevent the very violence going on in Egypt right now. Unlike the onslaught against the Israeli embassy, its diplomats by local Egyptians set on death and destruction, it was America's urgent, emphatic intervention on behalf of Israel that saved Israelis from certain death.

Unfortunately, there is no one within the global community who speaks for the Christian Coptics with the same sense of urgency, influence to stem Chrisitian deaths at the hands of these 7th century era barbarians.

I’m not sure exactly how protective Mubarak was of the Christians. I know quite a few Egyptian Christians who now live in the U.S., and as much as 10 years ago they referred to the harrassment of Christians in Egypt as “state-sponsored terrorism.”

I can imagine, however, that since Mubarak’s fall, it’s only become worse.

Coptic Chrtistians were in Egypt five centuries before Mad Mo was spawned. Or, to put it in perspective, longer than the number of years since Columbus landed in America and our present day.

A horrible truth.

The killers are the same maggots who were sending pizza to the protesting “perfessors” and teachers in Madison during their anti-American/pro-union fiasco there.

FOX reports that the Copts were first attacked by a Muslim mob, and THEN the army joined in..sounds like an attempt to foment an incident...and increase support for the Muslim brotherhood in Nov’s election.

NPR’s reporting this morning implied that the Christians caused the deaths, and that they started the fighting. Is this in any way true?

What better way to win an election, than to kill your opponents? History has shown this doesn't end well.

Obama’s brethren in the Muslim Brotherhood at work!!! Can you really believe that any Black American Christian would support Obama, the African Muslim birthed in a heritage where Obama’s forebears were slave traders throughout the Middle East, South America, the Caribbean and North America??? Some Arab spring!!! And.....African Muslim, POTUS Obama utters barely a word about the murder of innocent Christians, many of them Black!!! Makes one wonder what anti-Christ, anti-American, Obama has up his sleeve!!!

When there is genocide of these Coptics, and they are forced to flee or die, who is going to point out that our current “leadership” was in full agreement and fully supported the people there doing this?

The media won’t do it. It would be too inconvenient and distracting to their vision of Obama’s Arab Spring.

Christians being killed by Muslims after the fall of Mubarak; who could have predicted it... It was all joy and celebration in Tahir square - A CNN reporter found out otherwise and now they don't talk about what happened.
