This Thursday, Philadelphia CBS radio host Chris Stigall interviewed his colleague regarding her investigation, asking her to put the storys significance into perspective.
Since the very beginning, those who knew a lot more about this case than I did, including officials who work for the Obama Administration this is nothing particularly against him or anyone else who happened to be in charge they have said this is bigger than Iran Contra. They have said this is bigger than Watergate. Attkisson replied.
The CBS investigative reporter also noted, The idea that this started as one whistleblower that pretty much all the officials were painting out to be a liar an ATF agent in Phoenix. And to see where this has moved over the months to officials admitting, okay this program was going on but it was isolated to Phoenix, Arizona. Then saying, okay people did know about it at ATF headquarters, but thats where it stopped. To saying, ok the White House and DOJ did know about Fast & Furious but they didnt know about the details.
Stigall asked Attkisson whether Justice Department head Eric Holder was aware of the operation when he testified before Congress in May.
Attkisson answered that, Fast and Furious was mentioned at least as far back in memos to the Attorney General as July, 2010. There are briefings from two different organizations, the National Drug Intelligence Center that went directly to the Attorney General as well as from Lanny Breuer, the head of his criminal division in DOJ that mentioned Fast and Furious.

Gunwalker ping.
US officials lost track of the weapons, which have since been linked to a series of deaths involving drug cartels as well as the murder of border patrol agent Brian Perry last December.
“...lost track of...”
Presumes there were ever any effort to track them in the first place!
We miss him tremendously here in KC.
Reminds me of a spoof song by Tom Lehrer way back when: "Once the rockets go up, who cares where they come down? That's not my department says Werner Von Braun..."
The cover up will likely entail the creation of a "department" that is fully responsible. Problem will be that is has no manpower assigned against it...
Gun”runner” is NOT bigger than Watergate because the corrupted MSM says it is not bigger. Guns traveled, people were slaughtered, and a society badly injured, all to the sound of CRICKETS from the MEDIA.
The American Media has generally degenerated into a PROPAGANDA outlet for the rabid left. The strength of the First Amendment is contributing to its weakening.
The latest example——the MEDIA’s fawning over the OCCUPIERS
who are busy whining over their inability to get what they are unwilling and unable to do on their own. More crickets.
The RINO’s in Congress must step up their efforts with full 24-hour a day hearings (just like Watergate) and the drive-by’s will not be able ignore it. We have mostly cowards in charge now with the brave exception of one or two. This story could gain someone a Pulitzer if only they had the guts.
Ping.

Occupy Wall Street is, in my opinion, just a diversionary tactic, encouraged by the White House, so that the MSM has something to talk about all day instead of Solyndra, and Fast and Furious. Even Fox is likely to bite. No doubt Greta and Geraldo will soon be camped out onsite attempting to get 24/7 coverage out of Fox. Hannity has bit hard as well.
Fortunately, so far the coverage is also pointing out how weird the protesters appear to be, the SEIU’s involvement, and the fact that they’re getting endorsed by the likes of Pelosi, Biden and Obama. If Cain handles this right, it could put him on top permanently, because most politicians seem to be tongue-tied over what is an obvious attempt by Obama, et al, to further stir up trouble within the American economy. And the last thing Cain is ever going to be accused of is being tongue-tied.
In the end, this is going to be yet another Obama debacle, but it could also turn into a mess that takes a while to clean up. But sympathizing with this bunch isn’t going to look good on anyone’s resume when it’s all over.
Now they've been exposed. Many people died and the Piper demands payment.
Actually, Fox did a show on Fast and Furious yesterday and O’Reilly has been on it for a while. I don’t much care for O’Reilly, but he has ties to CBS and interviewed the woman behind the Fast and Furious story, but yesterday, they had Issa and Michelle Malking talking about the story and pictures of the guns that were found at the home of the drug cartel in Mexico. Fox is doing a good job on this one.

This will explode well beyond Watergate’s scope if it turns out that it was a planned effort to make it appear that guns used in drug crimes were being obtained illegally in the U.S. and if that effort was intended to be used by the administration to weaken our 2nd Amendment protections.
And I suspect that’s exactly what it was. It just blew up in their faces when our own border guards were killed and honest ATF agents could no longer stomach what they were being forced to do.
Why think that? Well, no effort was made to actually track the guns to the ultimate purchasers, so what else could be the point? Sell guns to unknown drug dealers and wait for crimes to occur so serial numbers can be matched to dead Mexicans...that appeared to be the scope of the operation. What does that have any chance of accomplishing, absent a political motive? Nothing; nothing at all. And there are people now dead because of it. Mexican authorities will be seeking extradition of those responsible in due time, and justifiably so, as would we if a foreign operation got hundreds of our citizens slaughtered in similar circumstances.
Regardless of the intent of Fast and Furious, I’m betting it easily goes as high as Holder, and I’m talking about the planning level, not the briefings; it could even go as high as the Presidency, which is when it blows beyond Watergate.
Keep digging, Congressman Issa; keep digging.
P.S. The NRA magazine is going to make for interesting reading the next few months...
Yeah, the ultimate goal was more gun control, but there was a whole lot more to it than that.
First of all, the Obama administration and a lot of those in the Democrat party have a grudge against Arizona that they aren’t going to soon forget. They hate AZ for resisting the MLK holiday for so long. AZ just didn’t have very many Black people. Napolitano fixed that by inviting bus load after bus load of Katrina victims to Phoenix (probably other AZ cities, as well) and inviting them to stay and they are still there. When the Obama justice dept. accuses the AZ law enforcement of profiling, they are thinking Black, not Hispanic.
The Obama administration also used the guns as an excuse not to enforce the border regulations, pointing at AZ and saying that the gun violence is your own fault for having such lax gun control laws.
FAR LEFT Advertises on Craigs List for Paid Activists to Fight Wall Street
The pro-Obama Working Families Party of New York posted this advertisement on Craigs list. They are looking for energetic progressives to help them to fight to hold Wall Street accountable. And the pay is $350-$650 a week depending on the responsibility and length of time of staff.
Yes, I know I over-stated the case there, but still, I’d lay odds that if you add up the FOX minutes devoted to Occupy Wall Street over the next week and compare them to the combined total of Solyndra and Fast & Furious minutes (of reporting) the Occupy Wall Street minutes would far outnumber the minutes devoted to the scandals.
If the shoe were on the other foot here, Occupy Wall Street’s protesters would be chanting “Impeach Bush,” and nearly 100% of the MSM coverage would be on the scandals and the protests directed at the scandals. Yet, even on Fox, the coverage today will lean the MSM’s direction.
Of course, the upside is that if Obama can just survive this for a few more months we get to run against him instead of Hillary...so maybe the MSM is doing us a favor in that regard?
