...Mr Romney, the former Massachusetts governor who leads the Republican field of candidates for president, has never been able to shake off doubts over whether evangelical Christians would support him if he became the nations first Mormon nominee.

Charlie Cook, a political analyst, predicts that Republicans will see a drawn out contest between Mr Romney, who has limited credibility with hardcore conservative voters, and Mr Perry, who is ideologically in line with conservatives but has not made a smooth transition from the governors mansion in Texas to the national stage. The two will spar at another debate on Tuesday night in New Hampshire.

Honestly, I’ve never doubted that Perry would bounce back and we would have a real race, but using Romney’s religion as a wedge issue just doesn’t sit well with me. Romney’s religion, and evangelical opposition to him because of his Mormonisn, is what created the win for Huckabee in IA in ‘08.
I’d far rather the focus be on job creation, creating a climate that is conducive to taking the risk to begin and operate a business that will employ people, taxes, the debt .. anything but a candidate’s religion.
“I will vote for the most conservative candidate who
can be elected president.”
Thank you. Either Mitt or Rick would be far superior
to Obama IN A SECOND TERM!
No, I was aware you were not a Perry supporter. I just look for every opportunity to post that comparison between the liberal position of giving instate tuition to ILLEGALs in Texas and the liberal position of giving instate tuition to ILLEGALs in Kalifornia. On that issue there is no difference between Kalifornia's liberal governor Moonbeam and Texas' liberal governor Rick Perry.
And I wasn't trying to enlist you as a Cain supporter. Cain's doing we enough on his own.
Cheers.
“Both adhere to the liberal position that ILLEGAL invaders deserve taxpayer subsidized handouts but only one is honest enough to admit he is a liberal.”
So, the only issue that matters is instate tuition? That alone determines whether you are a liberal or not? Here are 10 reasons Perry isn’t a “liberal”...
1. Pro-gun.
2. Pro-life.
3. Pro death penalty.
4. Global warming skeptic.
5. Pro-military veteran.
6. Pro-drilling.
7. Pro-business, regulatory reform.
8. Has the guts to call Social Security what it is.
9. Strong on 10th ammendment, limited Federal government.
10. Has been a strong supporter of Israel for decades.
It’s more than just instate tuition. Perry is pro-ILLEGAL alien and has said he is open to a ‘path to citizenship’ for the ILLEGAL hordes who are here. With national elections having been decided by just a few percentage points those new ‘citizens’ would be all the votes the democRAT party would need to ensure Republicans never again win a national election. I happen to think that’s big.
And #11, still dropping like a rock.
Romney’s choice of faith is irrelevant. It’s his policies that matter.
In Bible study this morning, we kind of pushed aside verses and got straight to the point. 1 in 4 Christians showed up to vote in 2008. We’ve got now, what we’ve got because of our apathy.
Christians NEED to vote, and get everyone they know to vote. I’m not telling you who to vote for, but I damn will sure be voting for a Christian. :) That would be Rick Perry.

lol! Thanks, but I had already seen that. Is it supposed to sway my opinion of Perry?
If so, you might want to see that he also listed Perry as third behind Bachmann and Cain as his choice in the primaries. Does that sway yours?

He has done more to stop illegal immigration on the TX border than any other governor. That so called illegal alien thing was instate tuition to TX colleges. It was passed with a veto proof majority in both houses. TX catches illegals and ICE turns them loose. Perry has petitioned Obama numerous times to provide troops and aviation assets, but Obama refused. Illegal Immigration is a FEDERAL responsibility. Blame Obama for the illegal alien thing, not Perry.
Nope, that would be Nevada, New York etc. These are liberal states. TX and Perry are conservative, but of course you already new that fact.
Sure won’t vote for Cain after the three personal attacks he made on Perry. I heard all three. He did not apologize. Certainly not presidential.
Says the same liberal poster who said ILLEGAL aliens are required to apply for citizenship only to then totally ignore proof that you were wrong.
Its not like you have any credibility to damage, but you should at least try to show some semblance of dignity.
