Is there a difference between illegal and asylum seeking? I know here, you can claim asylum at the border (usually the airport) and your case gets investigated. If it fails, you supposedly get deported again.
She does certainly sound like a valid asylum case - but like I say, I don’t know US law in this regard.

I heard a report that the feds are going to crack down on the legal pot dispensaries in the US because the pot is so high grade AND grown here. That tells me they want to keep the prices high for the cartels with the ILLEGAL stuff coming in over the border. I don’t like it.

I would suggest that in this case “political asylum” applies. She was after all being specifically targeted. I would think that we need to be careful about “lumping all together” as we accuse them of using this case as a “sympathetic character” example.
