NY Times' selective coverage of Israel through a glass darkly
American Thinker ^ | October 8, 2011 | Leo Rennert

The paper's Jerusalem bureau paid barely minimal attention to the recent killing of an Israeli man and his one-year-old son by stone-throwing Palessinians who attacked their car -- with one huge stone smashing through the windshield and hitting the driver.

...

Like most Western reporters, Kershner assumes that a logical peace treaty must divide Jerusalem, with Jewish neighborhoods in eastern Jerusalem remaining in Israel and Arab neighborhoods becoming part of Palestine. But neither she nor her colleagues have ever checked with Arab residents of Jerusalem about what their real preference might be. Had they done so, they would have found polls showing that more Jerusalem Arabs want to remain in Israel than end up in a Palestinian state.

--While Kershner was making her way to the Arab village to interview its residents, Joseph's Tomb near Nablus in the West Bank was defaced with swastikas during the High Holidays. Not a mention in the New York Times.

--The killing of an Israeli father and his son by stone-throwing Palestinians was not an isolated stone-throwing incident. The Israeli military, which keeps tabs of such incidents, reports there were 498 such attacks in September -- a new high. Did Kershner take notice? No.

--During the High Holidays, a Jewish olive grove in the West Bank was burned down. Again, no mention in the Times, which is quick to report acts of Jewish vandals in the West Bank, but maintains complete silence about Palestinian attacks on Jewish property.

The list of unreported news in the Times' selective, anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian coverage goes on and on. In the Times, only hurtful acts against Arabs and Palestinians merit serious attention. Pain inflicted on Jews rates minimal, or non-existent, reporting.

Another example of how evil operates in our world.

Liberalism being the facilitator of anti-semitism.
Islam replacing Nazism.

And the World, once again, does nothing.

The crying irony here is that a lot of liberals are from Jewish families, and if jihads against Jews take root, their liberal credentials won’t save them.

Yes, most in the world now see gray, not black and white.

Liberals are generally antisimetic/anti-Israel.
Liberals are generally anti-Christian/pro-Islam.

Conservatives are generally pro-Israel/pro-JudeoChristian culture. Liberals generally hate Conservatives.

Most Jews are Liberals. In fact, there is no Liberal group that is not run, funded, or supported by Jews.

Ergo, Jews are generally anti-Christian/anti-Jewish and pro-Islam.

Hard to argue with the mathematics of the situation?

Liberals are generally anti-Christian/pro-Islam. . . Most Jews are Liberals. In fact, there is no Liberal group that is not run, funded, or supported by Jews. Ergo, Jews are generally anti-Christian/anti-Jewish and pro-Islam.”

You changed the wording of the equations - you should have said:

“Ergo, Jews are generally anti-semitic/anti-Israel/anti-Christian/pro-islam.”

I don’t think that equation works because while most Jews identify themselves as “liberal”, I don’t think that necessarily means that most Jews are “anti-Christian”. They are definitely not anti-semitic nor “pro-Islam” (by that I mean, “pro-jihadist”) - although some of the positions they support unintentionally promote both of those things (and I do believe it is unintentional for most liberal Jews).

And, while it is true that some Jews are actively involved in extreme left-wing politics and definitely are anti-Israel, just like they are anti-USA, I don’t think they represent the majority of Jewish Liberals. I think most Jewish liberals are just stupid, as are most liberals, and don’t get the illogic of their views.

They, like many average liberals of all ethnic groups, don’t seem to see how their liberalism actually promotes the opposite of what they claim they want. But, what else is new? My point is that I don’t think the way you stated the “ergo” portion of the equation was accurate to what was originally posted, and, when it is corrected to do so, it obviously doesn’t fit.

Thank you for that cogent analysis. Pointing out flaws in my logic is a good thing as in this case I would much prefer to be wrong than right.

I hope you are having as beautiful a day as we are here. Cheers!

And there never was a Stalin-induced famine in the Ukraine either, according to the NYT.

Not even fit for puppy training.

Par for the course, with the NYTimes. According to their editorial pages, lack of peace is all due to Netanyahu’s “inflexibility,” plus that dastardly Jewish lobby in the US, which influences Congress to give him support.

And poor Obama is hemmed in because of “domestic political considerations” (that dastardly Jewish lobby again). Time for the European Union and Russia to lead the way in the Middle East. Obama is pinned down like Gulliver.
