Because that is the Black churches. Some of them are progressive.
IIRC, wasn't MLK a Baptist preacher in Atlanta?
I don't put MLK in the same sentence with...break...
Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpston.
Cain says he PERSONALLY thinks homosexuality is a sin and a choice but that he does not have a problem with it in government so long as a gay would be qualified and would say they would respect the Constitution.

(This is more about one of Cain’s gay campaign staffers which the story reports Cain supposedly tried to hide the gay staffer’s lifestyle, but it does go into the same issue here.)

This last one is mostly Cain’s defense of why he supported TARP, but if you read through it, you’ll see he is very open to appointing gays so long as they are “qualified”.

I just want people who I want qualified. I want them to basically believe in the Constitution of the United States of America, so, yep, I dont have a problem with appointing an openly gay person. Source: Christian Post (Herman Cain exact quote)
I hope Christians who are supporting other candidates open their eyes and see this.
///
and i hope Christians who are supporting Perry,
will read all the stuff about him praising Islam,
building Gulen Islamists schools with taxpayer money,
signing Halal bills to sacrifice animals with slit throats to Allah, quoting from the Quran himself, and praising Islam.
if you follow “Chrislam”, that should make you happy.
but most evangelicals i know, believe like Franklin Graham,
that Islam is evil.
Is it against the law to discriminate in employment based on sexual lifestyle? I would never want to hire a homosexual, but I have worked for them and had no problems.
That’s wonderful AND refreshing to hear about a candidate.
Please see the links I just posted to you where you can see that Herman Cain would appoint gays in government so long as they are qualified.
I did want to add this though. Cain has even more recently stood by the fact that it is her PERSONAL opinion that being gay is a sin and a choice but also readily says it is just his opinion against other’s opinions.
Unfortunately, Cain is now cutting off questions about his stand even on the entire issue and is refusing comment.

Excerpt:
When MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell asked Herman Cain Thursday to explain his beliefs about LGBT people, his answer was short.
“Next question, please,” he declared almost immediately.
The insurgent Republican presidential candidate was being asked to elaborate on something he said while a guest on The View.
“How can you say that being gay is a choice?” the question came in from Twitter on O’Donnell’s show. “Did you choose to be straight?”
Cain had just come off a bruising discussion with O’Donnell about whether he sat out of the civil rights movement while in college.
snip
“There will always be a difference of opinion,” he said. “Like I told Joy Behar, she has her opinion, I have my opinion. It’s a difference of opinion. Next question, please.”
His answer on The View wasn’t much longer.

David Stein: Debunking the Rick Perry Pro-Shraria School Curriculum Myth
Amil Imani Governor Perry's Islam Connection
No matter how I tried, I couldn't reach the conclusion that this inclusion promotes Islam or is pro-Sharia. It seems that the mere fact that Islam is included in the curriculum represents supporting it. And with regard to the concern that the education curriculum Perry promoted is pro-Arab and against Israel, the evidence is exactly the opposite. The lesson on Israel reads:
Great bio. on Cain but, what in his background qualifies him for President?
**At this point there are only two viable conservative candidates, Perry and Cain/Cain and Perry. The rest of the filed is just dissonance ...**
Couldn’t agree more!
I wish I could believe you but Romney and Paul are both worries.
Please provide a credible link where Rick Perry supports terrorist Muslims or a terrorist’s sickened faith. You won’t find one. To speak with a leader of an organization or country does not a supporter make. To have a dignified conversation with a leader of an organization or country is common in government. To praise a terrorist activity is not something Governor Perry ever did.
People who present disinformation abound, but only fools will believe it.
He walks a fine line on abortion too (can you figure it out?) -- starts at 3:30 into the video:Herman Cain on John Stossel Show, Fox News
I think the Progressive Baptist are the JJ, Al section of Baptist. They were big backers of Million Man thingy.
Calypso Louie and all.
The NBC was start to publish Black Ministers sermons.
MLK seemed pretty mainstream Baptist. but who knows.
I like you, admire you, respect you.
you are a true conservative patriot.
and, the person you describe in post #15 sounds perfect and “saintly”.
...and i’d vote for him, if he was real.
Perry was a democrat who endorsed Al Gore!
...an evangelical who praises Islam and quotes from the Quran.
...a friend to open borders groups, until he started running for president.
(he had years to do something like Alabama did.
instead, he just blames the Feds.
-blames other, like Obama does)
...a statist, who tried to force parents to give young girls a vaccine, for something only transmitted sexually !
...a big government establisment career politician,
who was lucky enough to govern the GREAT state of Texas!!!
sure, he’s less of a shifter for political expediency than Romney... but who isn’t?
(and how about his courage in debating all comers,
in the last Governor’s race? Awesome debating style...)
And if he wins the nomination, i’ll support him completely.
but it won’t alter the reality:
...he’s a career politician who supported AL GORE,
and he’s an evangelical who praises Islam,
and was endorsed by members of CAIR.
You can post all you want to counter effective dissemination of information but you are spinning and you know it.
Who is your candidate?
So far, I'm sticking with Perry but we'll see what happens. Anyone but Ron Paul. I have seen twice on FOX today a commercial by Ron Paul using Perry's "no heart" words in a very stupid commercial against Perry.
The problem is that at the end Paul tells us he is against birthright citizenship when he is using birthright citizenship to condemn the killing of al Awlaki. Paul is crazy.
Lol...!!!
Nice to see that the MSM/Dem/establishment assault doesn’t have them cowed.
Well for one his isn’t Rick Perry. I know that was a HEARTLESS remark.
Did anyone see their speeches?
