CW, I had to read that a couple of times, not only in your post but even at the article itself. I was not clear WHAT Perry said was appropriate. That was confusing there!
Yes, Perry is very strong on social issues, but if he has to defend to the country why he is so socially conservative (as the article suggests), I think he’ll be just fine!
And I can feel very safe in my belief that Perry would put conservative judges on the bench too.
Gov. Perry meant his stand against sodomy was appropriate.

That was what I meant to indicate that I had finally figured out that newspaper article sentence meant. Sorry I wasn't more clear on that.
ok, I'll try it...
“Of all the conservative joints in all the towns in all the world, you had to walk into mine...”
jk, ;-)
We have to keep our sense of humor, Rip. The left will do everything they can to discourgae participation by conservatives. They have to since so many of their ‘on-the-dole’ constituencies will be finding something else to do rather than vote in the coming debacle.
Christianity Today spoke with the Rev. Cainhe’s also an associate minister at Antioch Baptist Church North in Atlantaabout his thoughts on hearing a call, beating cancer, and (maybe) running for President.
How long have you been involved in active ministry?
I was licensed in 2002. Like most ministers, I felt called to preach the word of God and minister to the least, the last, and the lost, and minister to His people. In addition to delivering sermons, I’m very involved with the scholarship ministry. I believe, as you know, education is the key, and one of the reasons that I got involved with the scholarship ministry is that we need to encourage kids as well as assist them in getting off to a good educational start, and even going on to college.

Cain has my vote. I hope he gets the nomination. I will be proud to vote for him for president.
Agreed. I appreciate the refreshingly cordial response.
To quote Franklin, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”
This is not true.
I thought you were for Romney.
When did Cain say he would appoint pro-homosexual judges? He’s on record being against homosexual marriage and said he believes homosexual behavior is a sin.
From what I’ve read, he wants to leave 2nd amendment issues to individual states. I doubt he’ll be running guns to Mexico, though.
I beg to differ... the only candidate who is NOT making gaffes is Herman Cain. When he does misspeak, he is not afraid to correct the record, a sign of a true leader.
There’s no way I’m backing Romney in the primaries. Back in 2008 I thought he was barely acceptable, considering it was him vs. Mr. “we have nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency” McCain.
If Romney ends up winning the nomination and the Establishment succeeds in giving him “his turn”, I’d have severe reservations voting for him, however Obama is a living nightmare.
Is that a bad or a good thing?
Where has Cain “gaffed”?
I find it curious how dragnet2, org.whodat, Bill Loman, napscoordinator, and TONS of others ritualistically appear on every Perry thread to hammer him into the concrete, but these same people sit on their hands when the topic of Mitt Romney comes up. Nor do they ever mention him. The guy they should dislike the MOST, they speak about the LEAST.
We have some really interesting weirdos on here for sure.
I’m thinking on that too.
Something’s up.
One of the most powerful moments I’ve seen in politics occurred during a Cain interview with Dick Morris! ... When asked about his lack of foreign affairs experience, the man stated immediately that he is getting brought up to speed by very competent people and will be ready whent he time comes. Given Herman Cain’s History, his long list of successes entering new fields of endeavor, I have no doubt whatsoever that he will in fact be ready when the time comes. America is in urgent need of such a man in full! A politician or lawyer —neither of which defines Herman Cain— would have obfuscated or shucked and jived like the curreent white house scum when asked such a pointed qurestion. But not this Christian businessman who is all American and for whom race is not even on the table.
If you really believe that you are grossly misinformed.
Herman Cain is a Baptist minister!
I’m 66. I’ve witnesses a lot of political theater over the decades (I can remember chanting ‘I like Ike’ after school). At this point there are only two viable conservative candidates, Perry and Cain/Cain and Perry. The rest of the filed is just dissonance ...
