RE: ok! Cain/Newt

Would Newt be a millstone on Cain’s neck? Or would he give him more traction?

I hope not.

Someone here suggested Chief of Staff, I think that would be an excellent position for him: Take advantage of his inside knowledge behind the scenes, away from the cameras and the media.

The VP’s job is to eloquently defend the Presidential candidate during the campaign, I think Newt, despite his personal flaws, would be the best person out there advocating the ticket.

I’ve been pretty sour on Newt, but watching him on with Hannity last night, very informal, just tossing ideas out and outlining his “day one” executive order changes to get rid of all czars, etc - I was reminded why he’d be good to have in the top of the new administration.

Just not the very top.

I like Newt a lot but I can’t see his ego allowing him to be #2.

I’m all for it. The debate between him and “plugs” would be priceless.

I could live with that. And Newt debating Biden would be like the Green Bay Packers playing a team of campfire girls.

One could conclude that from this point on, Newt is running for Vice President.

I think Cain would do better to go outside the current crop of candidates for his VP.

Many people are blind about Newt. He is one of the most conservative and experienced candidates in the Repub field. He would make an EXCELLENT VP because he would make an excellent President as well. That should be a major criteria for selection for VP.

My take: Newt VP / Cain or Romney for Pres.

Note too that Newt has been far more productive in putting out his plans for all of America to study and see. And he is a FIGHTER!!! A must for this election.

Gingrich brings much to the ticket.

As organizer of the Republican revolution and as former Speaker of the House who balanced the budget, reformed welfare, and delivered on his contract with America, Gingrich has the chops to become president of the United States behind a man who has had fourth stage cancer.

As a debater, he will eclipse Biden.

As a generator of ideas, he will make the ticket truly exciting and innovating.

Finally, we would compensate for Keynes lack of governmental experience and lend the ticket gravitas. His personal baggage will not be as great a detriment in the vice presidential slot.

The question is should it be Cain/Gingrich or Gingrich/Cain?

The next question is, does Gingrich bring more to the ticket than Marco Rubio? Rubio has technically said he would decline the offer but he was certainly not Sherman-esque in his protestations.

Rubio delivers Florida and Gingrich can deliver no particular state. Rubio delivers some part of the Hispanic vote, even though he is Cuban and not Mexican, and Obama cannot win if he slips much in the Hispanic tally.

Not possible. Both Cain and Newt are freom Georgia. Thes means the Georgia delegation would not be allowed to vote for both candidates in the electoral college.

You know....as bizarre as this would have been a few months ago, this is not out of the realm of possibility. And while i’m not crazy about a serial adulterer (and current man of Calista) being on the ticket, clearly, Newt has intellectual firepower that no one else has. He needs a bit more discipline, but when he targets the other side, and not Paul Ryan, he is pretty effective.
