(WASHINGTON) -- Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum called the front loading of the primary schedule a travesty and placed blame for it on Mitt Romney and Rick Perry in an interview with ABC News.
[snip]
Santorum suggested that the leading candidates, especially Romney, are trying to disrupt the process to have the primaries so early that other candidates simply wont have the time to build enough momentum to take on the front runners.
Well this is clearly Mitt Romney and Rick Perry [who] I am sure are very interested in running the clock out, Santorum told ABC News. They are in a position where they have resources and name recognition. The shorter the time frame the less opportunity for other candidates to come up and catch them from behind. ......

Sounds like those dem crybabies to me.
I guess you watched his whiny video. What a wimp.
The Republican party has made a shift to the RIGHT. Most of the RINOs are gone. Look at the power in the House, it clearly is more right.
Let’s not attack a good conservative because he’s not your candidate. The point is relevancy. As the states fight to be first and earliest is real harm done? I think yes.
Character matters.
The GOP needs to step in and undo a lot of this, but politics involves conniving and long term strategic planning to win. I don’t like it, as I don’t think it produces the strongest candidate. We don’t need another McCain.
It’s not like this was just invented this year. Each candidate works to attract voters and jigger the system. Obama did it to Hilary. It’s his M.O. and we wouldn’t have an Obama if the Chicago Tribune hadn’t gotten him elected.
It will be interesting to see how our fears play out. It would be funny if Cain is our nominee despite all the machinations.
I think the Wall Street Wing will have noticed by now that he's a fully-seasoned executive and former Fedhead. That will make some eyebrows go up in the RiNO camp if Romney and Perry continue to wallow.
Sure he could. Three months is half an eternity in politics. Look how the picture has changed just in the last 10 days!
Yes, it does. Is that your way of telling us you want to vote for Rick Santorum now?
Lol...funny...you’re up early Rick...take some metamucil..it may help...
LLS
They are all politicians. They ALL have character flaws. Even the candidate I vote for.
To keep the order of early primary/caucus states intact, as determined by the RNC, if one shifts the date than they all need to revisit the schedule.
I doubt it was Romney himself as much as his supporters or state operatives...not putting anything past the man himself, of course, But it is a good opening for Huntsman and Santorum to see the weakness in his armour and keep it up with the ethics charges.
Yes, we have a long way to go to perfection, but I have come to the realization we will never see perfection. We ALWAYS go the best we can get. I am grateful each one of those people are in place rather than Pelosi. The Republicans are doing a great job of hanging together—the true RINOs are gone.
Which doesn't say much about the Senate.
What is with that phrase “The Era of Reagan is over,” being repeated? If it had any truth, then people wouldn’t have to keep saying it; but the fact that it keeps being regurgitated, shows the staying power of Ronald Reagan.
There have been several credible media supports suggesting ROmney’s well-entrenched election campaign has influenced the dates of primaries and caucuses.
There is NO evidence that Rick Perry, who just entered the race 2 months ago, has had any influence at all on the primary schedule.
But Facts don’t seem to bother Santorum, as seen by his lumping every frontrunner together in his attack on early primaries, and also his willingness to buy into the false, baseless attack about the stupid rock.
Santorum never was the same after he folded for Bush and endorsed Arlen Specter.
