What kinds of lessons today?
Student # 1 &2 canceled, as their house was being tented for termites.
Student # 3 canceled due to food poisoning, but his sister took his time slot.
Student #5 & 6 canceled due to parents being out of town.
Student #7 was delightful.
Linda was happy that I came home early. This morning, The house smelled awful, but it wasn’t Linda’s fault. The filter in the A/C needed changing so I got a new filter and proceeded with the operation. However, the maintenance guy back in June must have thought the filter was made of GOLD, so he made the thumbscrews on the access panel EXTRA TIGHT to prevent theft of this valuable object. My fingers got all messed up trying to turn the things, and I couldn’t find a pliers to save my life. Finally, the panel came free, and the old filter was coated in a disgusting mold that made me cough and sneeze. I could hear the trash truck coming, so I ran down the stairs with the nasty filter and burst through the front door just as the truck was leaving. I ran after the truck, yelling and screaming, and the guy FINALLY turned around and took the filter from my trembling hand.
I went back inside, poured myself a cup of Kona Coffee, and proceeded to give Linda a walk. At an abandoned house in my neighborhood, I noticed the newspapers had piled up, So I placed my cup of coffee on the mailbox, and picked up the newspapers to put out on the curb for the trash pickup. Linda bumped against the mailbox and my cup of Kona ($36.00 a Pound for whole beans, brought from Hawaii) came crashing down and ALL the coffee spilled out of the spill-free travel mug.
So then, coffeeless, I walked the dog and called the Nursing Home to speak to Mom, and there was no one answering!
Other than that it has been a good morning so far.
