HOUSTON -- Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said Thursday that he would definitely consider an invitation to run as the eventual nominees vice president, except if the nominee turns out to be Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
Cain, who rocketed to the top tier of the GOP field in several recent polls, was asked by reporters on the campaign trail for his thoughts on a hypothetical invitation to run as the eventual nominees No. 2. After offering the obligatory comment that he intends to be the nominee, Cain said, Quite frankly, based upon Gov. Perrys position on some issues, I would not be comfortable being his vice presidential nominee.
Those issues include Perrys moderate stances on immigration. As governor, Perry supported legislation offering in-state college tuition for the children of illegal immigrants, which has become a flash point in his campaign. Cain said, Issues relative to being soft on the border, issues relative to the whole, you know, tuition for children of illegal aliens. And I havent totally gone through all of his positions, but a lot of positions I have questions with.
Cain, who is black, was critical of Perry after the Washington Post reported Sunday that his family owned a Texas hunting camp once known as Niggerhead, a word that was also painted on a rock near the camps entrance. Perry has maintained that his father painted over the word as soon as he bought the property in the 1980s. And Cain subsequently said he believed Perrys explanation.
Of a vice presidential slot in general, Cain said, I would not say no to being vice president of the United States. But it would depend upon who got the nomination. I will support who gets the nomination. I know I have said that there are some people right now who I cannot support, but I wouldnt say no to it. I could say yes. But it has to be someone who I believe I can complement them in their job by being able to bring my skills to the table.
If the natural terrain makes it impassable, then we don't need a fence there, saves us some money. However, there are huge areas that could be fenced in a coordinated effort to stop the invasion of our Country by literally millions of criminals. Some think we should coddle the invaders and their children and that sealing our border would be "mean". I'm not one of those and I don't believe most conservatives are. The 2010 poll shows that Perry's support of illegal invaders is hugely unpopular even in Texas. Perry can call me a heartless racist all he wants, the liberals have been calling me that for years with no effect, same as his whining.
That’s ok, as I wouldn’t be comfortable voting for Cain. If he should win the nomination I will vote for him under the concept of ABO but I will no work for nor send money.

What is that supposed to mean?
Do you have facts to dispute this poster?
At what time after registration does a FReeper's facts become actual facts?
Or if they have an opinion, how long to they have to be registered before their registration date doesn't have any bearing?
And is there a time past which a FReeper becomes impervious to specious attacks like yours?
I'm suggesting that in your case, you might be viewed as having lost an argument and are falling back on a FReeper's registration date as somehow accruing to your benefit.
Your question was:
“Where are Perry’s plans? What is his Presidential Agenda?” (MNJohnnie, post 180 of this thread)

Look, be for Perry, fine by me, if he’s the nominee, he’ll get my vote.
But don’t dismiss Cain as just a “Pizza Man.”
See post #’s 191 and 197.
Where do you think these folks want us to build it???!!!
I think you signed up for the wrong site, this one is for conservative adults. You appear to be neither.
Sorry, Cain is his own problem. When you look past the smile and the rah rah speeches he’s not as conservative as you think.
Cain spoke at a “conference” with Mark Levin and Grover Norquist.
You are known by the company you keep. BTW is Norquist one of Cains 999 econ brain trust? Or is that why he is keeping his brain trust secret.
.......................................
The Freedom Defense Initiative, a new organization I started with author and scholar Robert Spencer, hosted its inaugural event to an enthusiastic standing-room-only crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference on February 19. But this event was at CPAC, not of CPAC. Could this be because of the influence of conservative kingmaker and power-broker Grover Norquist, who is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Conservative Union, which hosts CPAC? The only event concerning the war on America at CPAC was worse than nothing at all: It was an Islamic propaganda (taqiyya) presentation entitled “You’ve Been Lied To: Why Real Conservatives are Against the War on Terror.” Its message was that “real conservatives” don’t support the war on terror because it is a creation of the “Israeli lobby.”
How did CPAC come to this?
Grover Norquist’s ties to Islamic supremacists and jihadists have been known for years. He and his Palestinian wife, Samah Alrayyes — who was director of communications for his Islamic Free Market Institute until they married in 2005 — are very active in “Muslim outreach.” Just six weeks after 9/11, The New Republic ran an exposé explaining how Norquist arranged for George W. Bush to meet with fifteen Islamic supremacists at the White House on September 26, 2001 — to show how Muslims rejected terrorism. Wrote TNR author Franklin Foer:
On the afternoon of September 26, George W. Bush gathered 15 prominent Muslim- and Arab-Americans at the White House. With cameras rolling, the president proclaimed that “the teachings of Islam are teachings of peace and good.” It was a critically important moment, a statement to the world that America’s Muslim leaders unambiguously reject the terror committed in Islam’s name.
Unfortunately, many of the leaders present hadn’t unambiguously rejected it. To the president’s left sat Dr. Yahya Basha, president of the American Muslim Council, an organization whose leaders have repeatedly called Hamas “freedom fighters.” Also in attendance was Salam Al-Marayati, executive director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, who on the afternoon of September 11 told a Los Angeles public radio audience that “we should put the State of Israel on the suspect list.” And sitting right next to President Bush was Muzammil Siddiqi, president of the Islamic Society of North America, who last fall told a Washington crowd chanting pro-Hezbollah slogans that “America has to learn if you remain on the side of injustice, the wrath of God will come.”
It was Norquist who ushered these silver-tongued jihadists into the Oval Office of an incurious president after the worst attack ever on American soil. Instead of Hamas, Hezb’allah, and the Muslim Brotherhood, Ibn Warraq, Bat Ye’or, and Wafa Sultan should have been advising the president. Instead, at that September 26 meeting, Bush declared that “the teachings of Islam are teachings of peace and good.” It was a critically important, historic incident. What should have been the most important teaching moment of the long war became a propaganda tool for Islam. A singular opportunity was squandered, and the resulting harm is incalculable.

What does that have to do with his registration date on FreeRepublic?
I'm OK with that.
It's the fact that he'd have no problem being Mitt's running mate that bothers me.
Thanks for all the pings, Chas! The pictures and your comments are strong stuff. Only the willfully blind can ignore the futility and idiocy of attempting to completely fence off the border.
I notice “dirtboy” is apparently from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. Just for all y’all that don’t know, we Pennsylvanians don’t consider Philadelphia a part of Pennsylvania. It’s an armpit that keeps us from being a solid red state. We’d give it to New Jersey if they’d take it.
Too bad. He’s missing an opportunity to send a powerful message to the democrats and the media that says race card politics is no longer acceptable.
I couldn’t agree more. He still could if he wrote a clear, unequivocal OpEd in the NYT or the WSJ.
I’d rather have West than Cain and I don’t see where Rubio differs much from Perry on immigration.
..keep them doggies rolling’

That’s actually one of the ringtones on my phone!
