Are you ready for some football? Hank Williams Jr. isn't anymore.

The country singer and ESPN each took credit for the decision Thursday morning to ax his classic intro to "Monday Night Football."

“The Williams family: Proof that talent skips a generation.”

Exactly.

I always thought that there was no way Hank Williams Jr. could be the son of Hank Williams Sr. as there was no way that Hank Sr. spawn such a no talent son.

And then I saw Hank III play and I apologized for accusing Mrs. Hank Williams Sr. of screwing around on Hank Sr.

It was a comparison of the relationship between the two men (and at that, it was a bit over the top, but, IMO, not an indictable offense). He was not comparing BHO to Hitler anymore than he was comparing Boehner to Netanyahu. He was saying that enemies should not play golf together. Again, people should know NOT to bring Hitler up--AT ALL--but, he was making an analogy, just like they do in the SATs.

For example, it would have been better if he did something like this:

Obama:Boehner = Clinton:Gingrich

Ahmadenejad and Netanyahu, would have also worked.

I read this morning ESPN was going to drop his song, then they realized he had many supporters- so they were going to “suspend him for one game” or at least his music- then he countered that they could not use his song for the rest of the season.

When this backlash at him started I went to Amazon and bought some of his music, as my way of supporting him. I guess many others did because I noticed every CD of his that I was looking at only had a few in stock for immediate shipment and they said they were ordering more of the newer ones. I laughed and I hope he laughs all the way to the bank. He did not say what they claim and libs have gone so far as to call his statement racist which is really looney. There was nothing wrong with what he said and he did not compare Obama to Hitler either. Some folks just can’t comprehend and it is obvious only the looney left is allowed to speak and for sure conservatives aren’t allowed to.

I will be listening to Hank Jr. instead of watching ESPN and I hope they find they lost viewers for their PC craziness.

In that case, good for Hank. As one of his contemporaries once sang, "Take This Job and Shove It!"

Yeah, and I’m sick of the professional players in the NFL, NBA, and MLB. Sheesh! What a bunch of mindless copycats. They dress the same way, talk the same way and cover their bodies with tattoos, ostensibly to show their originality, but really doing nothing more than showing they don’t have an original bone in their body. Just of bunch of fools mired in a mindless herd mentality. Most are borderline morons spouting banal cliches. Not all, of course; just the overwhelming majority. I’ll take a good book any day.

He wasn’t ragging on Obama, the libs just wanted to leap on what he said because they think/know he is conservative. He said he thought it was odd that Obama and Boehner would play golf together after their battles on the budget and other things...Then said it was like Netenahu (sp) playing golf with Hitler. The analogy was not the people he mentioned it was the complete differences in their beliefs.

He didn’t rag on anyone, didn’t show racism as many accused him of, or compare Obama to Hitler. That was the liberal and media spin on what he said.

The analogy was the vast difference between beliefs/issues of the men not comparing the men to each other. It irks me that politicians can battle both sides of an issue to the point of shutting the government down and name calling/insults and then go play golf or socialize with each other as if they are best buds, I always feel like we the people are being played. That is what he was getting at.

I don’t doubt for one minute that he was set up in whatever fashion you might tell me about (I didn’t see it)

I have to assume that HW Jr does not have the sophistication of always-on-air talent. Yes, he’s a celeb, and that’s great, but he’s not a talking-heads type of guy and shouldn’t tangle with them on this proposition. IMO. I don’t hold it against him, I frankly don’t care. This is playing with highly skilled folks who may or may not want to sabotage “you” (not “you”, I mean HIM) but the point is that at some level this is sitting down at the poker table with the sharkiest sharks there are. You’re not going to win. Therefore the smart play is not to play. All I am saying is that it was an error on HW’s part to allow himself to be dragged into the alley. At *any* moment, he could have said “You know, I try not to engage in political discussions, I’m just a simple country boy” or whatever.”

Now maybe this was worth it for HW, OTOH, it probably cost him in the neighborhood of $5 million to get his little jab out there.

I call this: “NPG”: No Possible Gain. When that happens, do not play.

All the post-mortem doesn’t change the fact that rightly or wrongly, he snarked himself.

Are You Ready For Some HITLER!...

As evil as Hitler was, he put us in one less depression than this marxist bastard POTUS.

I don’t think he did anything wrong. The looney left is always looking for something they can twist and that is what they did. Personally I think every conservative should leap on them with all they have every time they do it to any conservative. The only way to stop a bully is to not allow them to bully you. Walking on eggs shells, watching what you say, being afraid to say certain things is simply giving power to the bully. We have not stood together against them and that is why they have the power to take our country down the toilet like a bully takes lunch money from those that won’t fight back.

When they leaped on him I went right to Facebook, friended him and posted messages of support. I went to ESPN and sent a complaint. I went to Amazon and ordered HWJ’s music. I will not watch ESPN, will instead listen to a country boy that I agree with.

Instead of being critical of him I choose to defend him, that is what the looney left does every time- they stand together and don’t eat their own. Unfortunately it has been working for them. Minding our manners and taking care in what we say has not been working so well for us so why do we keep doing it?
