We are ready to die to stop Japanese whaling: Sea Shepherd

The Sea Shepherd has become increasingly successful in recent years in disrupting the Japanese whaling, last summer forcing Japan's whaling fleet to head home early, and led Japanese whalers to obtain only 17 percent of their whaling quota.

Japanese government on Tuesday announced the research whaling program will go ahead later in December, and there are reports that an extra 27 million U.S. dollars worth of security will be added to the whaling fleet.

Other than the argument “they are whales” what is wrong with eating whale meat?

It hurts the liberal grass chewing ecomoonbats feelings LOL. Seriously whaling is not new and persons need to make a living. The protesters ought to try real work sometime at real private sector jobs.

I have never got anyone to explain why I should give a rip about the Japanese hunting whales. We hunt all kinds of animals here in the US and the sea and I don’t see the Japanese messing with us.

Those anti-whalers look stupid. Consider that get donation$ and outfit their ships. You probably have to pay them to be a crew member instead of you being paid by them. They really look stupid to me. Save the whale my axx. It’s another rip off con game. As long as they can get little old pink haired ladies to write them a check for ten grand or more they’ll keep milking it.

I really wish the Japanese would sink their ship and machine gun the survivors in the water.

Now that would entertaining TV!

I instinctively side with anyone who opposes the Left. But in this case, it’s by default; the Japanese whaling fleet is not staffed by Ssrah Palin supply-side conservatives but by whalers pursuing a way of life that dates back centuries and was once a huge part of American seafaring.

Face it, we humans tend not to prey upon our fellow carnivores higher up in the food chain. Plant life is what our dinner eats, and the diet of baleen whales is at least analagous; planton & krill. Cows are not an endangered species and neither is the species of whale that the Japanese hunt and eat. I have read that a taste for whale meat is not universal unlike that for steak or BBQ, but every nation to its own taste.

By way of saying that taking sides is easy as aforementioned; Captain Cocoapuffs and his smelly band of sea hippies are obnoxious lefties and I wish defeat upon them as much as I do liberals and Wall Street protesters.

Not harm, just defeat. And just where do these haters of capitalism and the meat-based diet get their filthy capitalist dollars, anyway? Nothing they do would inconvenience George Soros, just saying.

I like those Sea Shepherds. They do one thing, they do the thing they say they do, and they do it well.

Whale pops are tragically low... I’m no greenie weenie but after hundreds of years of unlimited whale harvesting and almost total species devastation, I like the fact there are some cowboys out there who actually give a damn about these awesome and awesomely intelligent, communicative, and mysterious creatures.

And yes, I’ve given ‘em money.

This qualifies as a Whale Wars Ping List thread. If you are interested in being added to the Whale Wars Ping List please FReepmail either myself or Pan_Yan.

We ping folks to stories related to Sea Shepherd and then Pan_Yan hosts "hippies failing badly" when the TV show is on in June. We even have a Whale Wars drinking game!!!

Do you prefer to buy your meat at the supermarket where no animals are hurt.

What does whale taste like? Can it be grilled like a steak?

The species of whale they take are not endangered. The only thing tragic is your acceptance of their of their leftists claptrap.

PING!!! The Japanese are bringing in $27 million in security. Atleast this season won’t be as boring as Season 4.

Thanks for the heads up. I find it hard to believe that the Japanese will actually shoot the hippies. They probably are just going to have better nets, more security ships and more LRADs and other tech to counter the hippies tactics.

The reason the hippies were successful this year was because they had 3 ships including a very fast one that could out run the fleet and they prop fouled a security ship.

Once a security ship is tailing the hippies, they just need to relay the coordinates the the Nisshan Maru and Harpoon ships.

And legally they can't send in the Japanese Navy as everyone agrees that these waters are Australian waters.

Watson and the Sea Shepherds do not need money. They have huge rich backers such as Martin Sheen, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Richard Dean Anderson, Michelle Rodriguez and many many more.

And they are also the chosen charity of eBay. I don't think they are desperate for money. And I am going to put this out on the line that there will be two more Sea Shepherd vessels, an ice breaker that is faster than the Barker and another harpoon interceptor.

They are pirates pure and simple and need to be blown out of the water. Anyone who supports them should be given a ticket before the torpedoes are fired.

What I find is the surprising incompetency of the Whale Wars crews. The ocean is a dangerous place for fools. One day someone is going to die from their stupity.

IMO, there is no need for hunting whales in this day and age. They are sentient mammals, not just “big fish” as some seem to think they are.
