Sarah Palin Will Not Run for President
ABC News ^ | October 5, 2011 | Polson Kanneth

Posted on 10/05/2011 3:28:29 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sarah Palin will not run for president. She made the announcement in a letter to supporters Wednesday night.

Read Palin’s letter here:

October 5, 2011 Wasilla, Alaska After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.

My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law....

I do not blame Sarah and Todd at all for this decision. Hell, I would not run either if I were them.

But, rightly or wrongly, I think she strung millions of us along un-necessarily for too long and I think money (personal gain) may have been the underlying issue.

With what has happened to Bachman and Palin in terms of savagery by the left, it may not be possible for any conservative woman to run again for a hundred years.....

And, being honest, about right this minute, I don’t care what Sarah Palin thinks about anything.

Ok.

For the record...the antagonism that those of us who were against Palin for POTUS did not start with us. A few of us posted our reasons why we thought that she was unelectable and/or un-qualified.

The attacks started right away, including posts caling for us to die in a house fire and accusing us of NAMBLA membership. The mods turned a blind eye to any personal attack as long as it came from one of the dozen or so palinistas.

The purpose was to drive any poster who did not drink from the same cup away. I have received dozens of free-mails from long-time freepers who told me that they felt as I did but did not want to endyre the attacks. Those of us who did keep posting started giving it back....never as vile and never as personal though. In that entire time I had one post pulled --- for calling a palinista a "boob" - yep a "boob".

Take it or leave it but that's how it evolved.

Oh I said that Cain was my choice now.

What we need is a strong conservative candidate who understands that his most important job as President will be to break the power of the permanent government bureaucracies that control all the levers in DC. That means eliminating departments like Education, HUD, the EPA, etc., and clearing the leftist apparatchiks out of Justice, the State Dept., et al. to the greatest extent possible. No headway can be made in restoring limited government without doing this. And I haven’t heard any candidate articulate this position, yet.

Yes, I’m disappointed, but I will undoubtedly vote for whomever is the GOP nominee, with varying degrees of enthusiasm - even Romney (who was my first pick in 2008, but remember then that the choice was Romney, McLame or the ludicrous Huckster).

My biggest fear now is that the left, the MSM, and Hollywood have now seen that they can with impunity destroy our most promising leaders. In 2012, 2016, 2020 and beyond look for the same outrageous sewer of lies and distortions to spew forth from them about whomever in the conservative ranks appears most threatening to them -— and it will work. We will always be forced to support and vote for someone the leftards finds least threatening.

Financially, to the extent able I will support strong conservative GOP candidates for the House and Senate, but will return to my prior posture with respect to party organs: not one cent to the house or senate campaign committees or the party. I might have trusted the GOP with Palin at the top of the ticket, but not one iota with any of the other dwarfs.

Though I love this Lady's heart and patriotism, I knew full well the powers that be (in the GOP) would never allow her to be the nominee. They are scared spitless of her.

She made the right decision... again!

Cain/Palin. Not running for President in 2012 does not preclude accepting the nomination as VP running mate. Maybe she was just keeping her powder dry to see if Cain could make a move to the front - which he has.

Nor will you see any candidate in your lifetime articulate on such things.

So the question remains, whose lines can we read between the most to get to those answers we want?

Love all the gloating from the haters.

Not from me. I wasn't one of her supporters, but a lot of FReepers I really enjoy posting to were and I respect their opinions even when I disagree. I learned a long time ago never kick someone when they are down.

Pretty much.

Anyone who thought Palin would run in spite if everything that indicated she wouldn’t (and couldn’t win even if she did) was incapable of using their brain. Many of these same idiots threatened to put me on their ‘stupid list’ once she announced she would run. Well I happened to make my own list.

While we are all disappointed she did not cast her Americanism into the primary, there is certainly much more to the picture that we will never know. What we do know is that the candidate the Repubs put on the ticket MUST get Obama out of the Oval Office. There is NO CHOICE in that regard for the American Republic.

This entire situation is far from over.

I like Cain, he’s my choice after Palin but I don’t think he can win. Odumbo, even thought his is only part black has scared too many people off. It will be probably 100 years before another black or half black is elected. I hope that I am wrong, but I doubt it. If Cain wins, YEA! and feel free to come back to this post and tell me how wrong I was because I want to be wrong.

The money bet is that she endorses Perry.

I think you're right. Perry has to do a better job articulating his beliefs, but he is raising money and can go toe to toe with Romney. I think the only reason Palin endorsed McCain was out of loyalty. Romney is much further to the left of McCain and if she endorsed him she would lose a lot of support.

We attacked Obama because he had NO experience at all. Voting "present" for two years with no real world executive experience was the complaint.

Cain has no political experience, but has 10 years of executive experience - that matters when running the office of President who is, by definition, our nation's chief executive.
