Cookies, good. Declared candidate, better.
Perry is the top 2nd amendment man running....I’ve not seen any of the others in shots like that!!! He loves his guns...Camp David will have a nice shooting range...LOL...
We might have cookies but we don’t have a candidate!
Funny.
So you think I’m the “Melissa” in the blog?
Unreal.
From where is it okay to post something, in your view?
I mean, if it disagrees with whatever views you hold, what publications, blogs, newspapers, etc. can I post from where you won’t think I’m pimping?
This is past ridiculous.
Oh yeah...I ain’t her and never heard of her until I was pointed to her posting.
But thanks for your input.
And lastly, I hope she gets TONS of hits! I LIKE her thinking.
So, your screen name is “ilovesarah2012”.
But you say you’re gonna “stick with Cain”.
If Sarah enters are you gonna STOP sticking with Cain?
Or are you sticking with Cain because you’ve gotten some new information about him?
And are you just as open to changing your position with new information about any of the other candidates?
And if so, THAT’S the reason for new posts about the candidates.
So rather then shout "You did not read the article" at everyone who doesn't agree with your feelins about Perry, actually respond to the point.
Where are Perry's plans? Merely being, in your opinion, a good Governor of Texas means nothing. Bush was a good Governor of Texas too.
You assume because Perry did certain things you liked in Texas, that means he would do the same nation wide.
Again, that is a feeling based, not a fact based, analysis.
Good post. The lady makes some very good points regardless of whom you currently support. What she said about Herman Cain is exactly what my mother said. My mother is apolitical, she doesn’t do the Internet, she reads the local paper and watches the evening news on TV.
I’ll cross the Sarah bridge if she announces she is running. Until then, I like Cain. I can’t imagine what Sarah could be waiting for if she is planning on running. A lot of people have already donated to campaigns. Don’t know how much will be left if she decides to get in.
I want a conservative candidate (fiscally and socially) who can beat Obama. Is that too much to ask for?
Just a little new information for you...
I did not write this blog post. I do not own the blog. The woman who wrote this is female. I am a male. I had never heard of the blog until someone pointed me to the posting.
I posted it because I thought it outlined some personal experiences someone has gone through in Texas and helped illuminate some of the topics of discussion.
You say, “Merely being [...] a good Governor of Texas means nothing.”
Couldn’t the same thing be said of anyone who wasn’t POTUS before?
You’re not being fair or intellectually honest.
And that’s my opinion...maybe it’s a fact and maybe it’s not. :)
What position? He has defended his record in Texas. That is what he was attacked upon. He has not actually taken any concrete positions on current issues. His whole campaign is "what a great guy I am, look at the job I did in Texas" And that is the problem both with Perry's Campaign and your article about him.
Conservatives are naturally suspicious of "cult of personality" candidates. We want issue based candidates, not resume candidates. Perry has yet to show he is an issues candidate.
You feel things about him and think because of those feelings he would be a good President. Great, where are the facts to back that up? Being a good Gov of Texas doesn't mean he would be a good President.
Love it and thank you for the quote and the photo.
If the trial lawyers hate him, that’s good enough for me.
Would like to see a Parry-Palin ticket.
I’ll tell you this...hoping it doesn’t sound “mutinous” to all of the “Perry” folks:
I like Sarah. I wanted Sarah. If she enters, it’ll be a game changer.
Today, she ain’t in it and I don’t know what she’s thinking/doing, either.
And I’ve got to go with what I know. Perry’s got warts. Cain’s got warts.
You’re for Cain (today). I’m for Perry (today). If Cain winds up with more bullets and more likelihood of beating Obama, I’m with him. But for now, I think it’s largely a two-man race...and I can’t bear the thought of voting for Romney.
Thanks for your civility and the discussion.
It’s nice to bounce stuff around (Perry said “...like badminton...” in the last debate) without resorting to the nuclear option.
God bless you and God bless the U.S.A.
Herman is getting more name recognition.
With more name recognition comes his higher poll numbers.
With higher poll numbers, more donations come in.
Herman Cain is doing just fine.
I read it. Perry blew his chance big time.
Maybe I’m just “heartless.”
Well, I worked for lawyers for 25 years, so I don’t hate them (well, I hate some of them). If you’ve ever been seriously injured through someone else’s negligence, you may want a good lawyer. And not all trial lawyers are rich ambulance-chasers. There are a lot of good family guys (and women) who work very hard for clients and are not rich. Broad brush and all...
He might fizzle and implode but not just yet>>>>>>>
-Republican White House hopeful Rick Perry raised over $17 million in 49 days-
And to top it off, his daily amount increased from $363,000 to $468,000 AFTER the Florida debate.
>>But for now, I think its largely a two-man race...<<
That’s what the lib media keeps shoveling at us, like so much horse dung.
I guess you’re not aware of the huge gains Cain has been making?
I’m for Perry also if Palin doesn’t get in.
He’s the best all around candidate we have.
Cain is a flavor of the day ... personable guy, different, seems affable, etc. but he has so many negatives that will come out.
The big hate against Perry is by people who have no earthly idea of what the situation is in Texas.
Perry does have a plan for the border and it makes a lot more sense than the fence. He’s had zero support from Zero and Texas has had to spend its own money on what should be a national problem.
He made a big gaffe when trying to explain the mindset of granting the in-state tuition to children of illegals.
That alone turned a lot of people off. However, Texas is chock full of Mexicans, the majority legal (I would guess). Eleven years ago when this legislation was passed (almost unanimously) it was considered to be a benefit both to the kids and to the state which would have better educated workers.
Things have changed a lot in eleven years as to how we feel about illegals. Perry had a choice, he could have disavowed the legislation, saying he wouldn’t sign it again. A cowardly course, maybe, but a politically correct one.
He chose to defend it, but was clumsy in the defense.
I think he was blindsided in that debate and flustered by every single person deciding to attack him. I think he’ll be much better if there is another debate.
In other forums where he can speak at leisure and (without a teleprompter) he brings his message very well. He’s got a lot of charm, is a proven winner and a great campaigner.
Also, a super fund raiser. He’s basically our best hope against Romney (still with the caveat that if Sarah gets in, everything changes).
I hope he can come back for all our sakes.
