To: Do Not Make Fun Of His Ears

I disagree with Cain on this one...and I manage to piss everybody off with my opinoion it seems.

While many of the flamboyant ‘gay’ people have clearly chosen that lifestyle, I do believe that some people are born gay. As proof of this, I look at people who try to hide it (the actor who played the dad on the Brady bunch for example), and people who try to fight it (gay men who deliberately enter the priesthood as a way to fend off their propensities).

However, having said that, I believe it is abnormal. No different than being born with a heart defect, 11 toes, whatever. And, I believe it is correct to identify it as abnormal, and even try to correct it - no different than treating a person with depression. Certainly, it should not be encouraged, and celebrated.

Why would the fact that some adult people suffer from same-sex attraction necessarily mean that they were born with it? Your reasoning doesn’t make sense.

I agree with you. Arguing that it would have been breed out is also ridiculous. If that were true, there would be no children with cancer or other deadly childhood diseases. Just because you don’t get the gene doesn’t mean you don’t carry it.

Having said that, I very seriously doubt it is 100% genetic. My bet would be for males it is 50% genetic and for females 1%.

Herman Cain asked someone to sho him the science to prove people are “born gay.”

There is none. Can you produce any? No.

“I do believe that some people are born gay.”

Herman asked for the scientific proof. If you can come up with some, you’re better than the biddies on “The View.”

there is no homosexual gene, the only people I have met who think they’re born homosexual and are not are the people who say I have some homo friends and they’re nice along with other usual crap.

No one is born homosexual, think about it if nature intended for homosexuals to reproduce to keep the human species alive and going then they would be able to.

They cannot reproduce, nature did not intend a mans ass/prostate to be banged by a penis.

The evidence is against you in terms of anyone being born gay, although I’m prepared to believe that there could be a physiological component to why a person might go in that direction vs. some other dysfunction as a reaction to certain early influences.

That said, I also take issue with Cain or anyone else dismissively saying “It’s a choice.” While there are no doubt some (a very few) whose approach to life is one of experimental hedonism leading to homosexual activity, in most cases it is a compulsion embedded due to early emotional damage, not arrived at by choice. The choice comes when one recognizes the compulsion within themselves and must decide whether to embrace it or combat it. Unfortunately, our cultural has become one that encourages the former and villifies the latter.
