top House Republican on Tuesday attacked conservative tax activist Grover Norquist in a blistering floor speech, saying his no-taxes pledge has "paralyzed" Congress from tackling the deficit.
In a short but powerful speech, Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., laid out a remarkable indictment against one of the most powerful figures in conservative politics. He cited Norquist's ties to convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, as well as charges that Norquist was associated with two terrorist financiers. Wolf also raised Norquist's lobbying for Fannie Mae and the Internet gambling sector, and his reported support for moving Guantanamo Bay detainees to the United States.
"Simply put, I believe Mr. Norquist is connected with, or has profited from, a number of unsavory people and groups out of the mainstream," Wolf said.
In an interview, Norquist dismissed Wolf's remarks as a "hissy fit."

How about if we stop worrying about “Tax reform” and start worrying about “cutting spending”?
Cut the spending and we can pay down the debt.
I just don’t want Norquist involved with anything because he’s an islamo sympathizer
Sounds like the Wolf is a crying boy..............
Mr. Wolf, ‘taming the nation’s debt’ is 100% dependent on cutting spending...in a massive way. The tax code should be cleaned up, but Norquist is not preventing that. He is preventing the typical cop out of Washington that raising rates is a solution to over-spending.
Cut spending, and significantly. That is why we sent you there in the first place.
Wolf is a RINO squish too.
More bullsht propaganda from Politico.
Maybe Norquist is a petro-Manchurian, after all.
Wolf is my rep. He is a poor excuse for a conservative, all talk and no action. He wants to be the lead engineer for deficit cutting, but now the train is leaving the station without him. Also, he is absolutely the king of pork in my area, and sends out lots of glossy pamphlets at taxpayer expense boasting about how much money he has spent.
Norquist would rather see shariah banking. This is a traitor. Anything he says or does is suspect. His wife is a devout muslim and devout nuslims marry...muslims.
Another gutless wonder who thinks the country is undertaxed.

Hey, Frank:
How about first concentrating on cutting spending levels that have us borrowing 40 cents on every dollar spent. Get that under control and THEN we can talk about “tax reform”.
And tht “tax reform” should be repeal of the 16th amendment and replacement of the income/slave tax with the Fair Tax.
IOW, he’s basically saying that he wants to raise taxes rather than cut spending...........
Agree.
My Congresscritter, Canolli, likes to kill babies and he thinks all his constituents are employees of leftwing non-profit propaganda mills and pressure groups.
We'd trade Canolli for Wolf any time.
Cut spending. I don’t think there is a single Congresscritter in Washington who wants to actually CUT spending. Everyone of them proposes a reduction in the growth of spending but no actual cuts. The way they keep score in DC, if they passed a budget this year that was identical to last year’s it would be scored as a $900 Billion cut. Even keeping score like that they can’t actually cut anything. Screw Wallstreet; we need to occupy Washington.
But “tax reform” is how our guys think they can get away with “revenue increases”.
OTOH, Wolf is 100% right about Norquist being compromised with unsavory associations that are damaging to the GOP and the country.
No Canolli listed for the House.
Yeah, he’s there ~ HE LOOKS LIKE ONE!
