“Still a Possibility:” Sarah Palin May Enter The Race
ABC News ^ | October 4, 2011 | Shushannah Walshe and John Berman

Posted on 10/04/2011 8:11:40 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

According to a source with knowledge of the inner workings of SarahPAC, inside the Palin world it’s still a possibility that she might run. However, as the deadline approaches not even her staff knows what she will decide.

ABC News has separately learned that the Palin team is well aware of the filing deadlines and are keeping abreast of the changes in the deadline. Politico reported Tuesday that a law firm that employs an attorney representing SarahPAC had been making calls to early states inquiring about presidential filing deadlines. SarahPAC would not confirm the report to ABC News. When reached by ABC News, Mark Braden—the attorney mentioned in the Politico report—would also not comment or confirm the report or that he even works with Palin.

As the days creep toward those state filing deadlines, no new staff has been hired. Her core group of about seven staffers runs the organization while a volunteer group completely independent of SarahPAC called Organize4Palin or O4P tries to lay the groundwork in states, most notably Iowa. Those close to Palin acknowledge the decision is hers to make alone with her husband, Todd, and that she could decide the day before the first filing deadline that she wants to throw her hat in the ring....

“than the hapless, stumbling, discombobulated Perry; than the speak-before-he-knows-the-facts-of-the-media-pile-on Cain”

LOL You make it sound as if Palin was Churchill or something. Everyone knows Palin made plenty of mistakes with the media and she’s going to have to work very hard in order to change that perception.

You brought up the conspiracy theory about states moving up their primary dates to defeat Palin.

If Palin had already declared, would that be a possibility at this point? Or would those states find a way to keep an announced and qualified Palin off of their primary ballot?

You brought up the conspiracy. I'm just trying to see if it has legs, and if Palin could have stopped this collusion.

“I’ll bet you that you can’t bundle $2 million for Palin.”

I bet I can, and I’ve only met her once...

Being 14 trillion in debt, you want someone with an analytical mathematical mind.

You're right. I believe there is a name for such a person. "Adviser".

I've seen the Cain Clinton thing on Youtube. It's extremely over-hyped. Cain merely asked Clinton a question armed with memorized facts and figures from his own business, which any CEO would have. Clinton was at a disadvantage, not knowing any of the particulars from Cain's business. I was expecting some big knockout, it was more of a clinch.

That Big Oil money came from raising taxes on the oil companies

From a states' rights angle, I thought that was a great decision by Palin. On a federal level, it would devestate that industry even moreso than Obama has done. Palin is an opponent of Big Oil in terms of taxes, and she needs to be asked that question on the GOP stage.

"Drill Here, Drill Now" is a great idea, but her details of it are still an unknown to me. Will states get to decide how much to tax the domestic companies drilling on their soil? Or, will the federal government under Palin tax the oil companies on that oil, and distribute it equally?

Well, actually, she has organizations everywhere, money will not be an issue, debates only allow the RINOs to try and walk back their mistakes, and recent history proves that momentum happens at warp speed. Rebuttal successful, you’re next post will be: But she’s a quitter.

My reply to that: The Dems are praying she never quits again. The last time she “quit” they got their ass kicked.

why stoop to their level?

How is defending her and her families honor stooping to their level Ace?

Hang in there. Palin is a nut now. This isn’t strategy, or fire in the belly, but now a woman without joy and overcome by bitterness and anger. I do not blame her, but playing it out publicly makes me embarrassed for her. I tend to think there’s dysfunction. She is on another planet emotionally. I pity her, but she needs to move on from role playing with the fairies to getting a life.

Actually Palin incentivized exploration, which is happening at records levels in Alaska right now. Energy has become a national security issue, therefore it is not unreasonable for the next President to use HER authority as Commander-in-Chief to rip the heart out of the EPA by executive order.

I was responding to the poster who said that Palin doesn’t care what the media writes about her.

Obviously she does if she is paying a lawyer to send letters to Random House. Either she doesn’t care, or she does. I’m going with the “she does”, as you seem to agree with.

We were just comparing and contrasting Palin and Cain.

Cain has zero accomplishments in the field of Government and no record whatsoever to run on.

Palin went into Government -- in the belly of the beast -- and accomplished things. Cain has not.

Cain sort of reminds me of another guy who seemed to have a lot of smarts and potential, and asked America to make him President based on what they IMAGINED he'd be able to accomplish. Because he had no actual Governmental Accomplishments.

Palin used the existing rules to get tax money out of oil companies when she was governor. I applaud that decision, and I notice that Todd Palin is now wearing TESORO shirts in his public appearances with Sarah.

She isn’t running.

Do you realize, Rita, that Janine Garofolo and Michael Moore and Joy Behar would be in complete agreement with you, and would approve of you whole heartedly?

I want to apologize. Sincerely. That post of mine was meant as a private post of private, personal opinion. Certainly not meant to purposely agitate FR Palin supporters who prefer substance over some shlubs opinion on personalities. I am on my text message keyboard and missed my mark. Very sorry.

You still didn't answer the question Ace,why do you consider, as you wrote, defending herself and her families honor "stooping to their level".

Do you consider defending yourself to an attacker to be stooping to their level?

I did answer the question, “ACE”.

If she doesn’t care about the media, she doesn’t sue them, “ACE”.

(If she does enter at this point, I’m going to be more than a little annoyed that she didn’t feel it was necessary to participate in any of the debates.)

Really? How many months are left before the first primaries?
How many until the election next November? It seems to me there is ample time to get into the race...on the candidate’s terms, not those of the Media, and/or the party establishment.
I for one am fed up with out “party establishment” both here in Hawaii and also nationally. Enough of this crap of “hands across the aisle”, “go along to get along”, “bi-partisanshi#”, “comprehensive whatever”. Needless to say, when the Repub. National Committee calls here and asks for a donation to the “Party Establishment”, they get an ear full, but not a damn dime.
