Wall Street occupation much ado about nobodies
The Occupy Wall Street protest is reminiscent of the scene in the 1953 film The Wild One where a young woman asks a motorcycle gang leader played by Marlon Brando, Hey Johnny, what are you rebelling against? Brando deadpans, Whaddya got?
The New York demonstration is in its third week, and similar protests have sprung up in other cities. Other than some temporary traffic blockages, the movement hasnt achieved anything tangible. It is a method without a message; rather, the method is the message. The protest is an exercise in creative anarchy, a statement against ill-defined and probably misunderstood power, a directionless movement claiming to represent 99 percent of America. It seeks to raise awareness, but where you go after that is up to you. It has no organization, uncertain goals, unlisted membership and lots of cardboard signs.
There is something for almost every type of radical in the occupy movement. It welcomes hard-currency advocates, opponents of water fluoridation, anti-war groups, anti-capitalists, anarcho-capitalists, anarcho-socialists, anti-Bilderbergers, opponents of the bank bailout, and chemtrail activists, among others. Their signs scream, People over profit! Get out and shout! Eat the rich! End the Fed! and Dissent is patriotic!

A nation of crybabies.

I suspect the real an-caps aren't anywhere around.
Why are you surprised by this? The source of these protests are the socialist wing of the Democrat party .
The party has been planning to have protests for years , the TEA party scares the living cr*p out of the left because it is a set of ideas not a party or a politician .
It also scares them that they are pointing out were the Constitution is not being followed by the political class & that scares both the Democrats & Republicans because both are playing the you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours game & lining their pockets at the same time.
That was beautiful man! Seriously my ping of the day!
Correct assessment of the situation with these protests & the truly sad part is that so many of this nations college kids are falling for it.
So opponents of these epic bailouts because of failures of fat corps and the banksters by the political corrupt, at tax payer expense, are now seen as radicals?
Hmmmm
You are most welcome.
I cant believe the ignorance of so many who think the Goal of these demonstrators is not Known. Its as Plain as the Nose on your Face,The end of America as we have Known it.
Look at the people who are Behind it Soros,Piven,Van Jones self described Communist,SEIU,all compatriots of Our Marxist in the White House who Proudly Proclaimed he was Going to Fundementally transform the United States Of America and his wife who Proclaimed ,we have to Change our traditions, change our History. How can EVERYONE be so Blind! Just because these people are Incoherent in their interviews they can be Portrayed as Obama was, an answer to everyones dreams whatever they are,USEFUL idiots as the Soviets used to call the Left,Make no mistake these people will be used to bring down our country. WAKE THE HELL UP!
I hear ya. But I think they’ll bring down the Left for a generation or two. Americans don’t like obstructionists or radicals. We like winners and leaders by example who win it for the team.
I say let ‘em play their hand out. We already know what they’re about. Let eveyone in the world see what good they are. Then we’ll pass laws to fix the economic and social systems which created the crap in the first place.
Not surprised, just frightened. Not at the protest which I think is laughable but at the comments in support of the know nothing protesters cited in the article.
Did you read the comments? The mind set of these people is nauseating.
What’s weird about it is that besides the wacko socialist/communist supporters, there is a lot of anti-NWO types there...anti-Bilderberg, anti-water fluoridation, anti-fiat currency? As a scientist, I actually defend some of the positions (like the anti-water fluoridation). So this whole thing is a mixed bag of poop for me. On the whole though I think its a waste of time...too many fringe groups jockeying for a voice dilutes and obfuscates whatever message they are intending to send, unlike Tea Parties which resonate loud and concisely.
