Perry has a record to back up everything on that list vs others who only have the rhetoric. Good speeches and debates go along way but actually walking the walk is so much more meaningful.
Some candidates have no record actually doing these thing. Others candidates like Romney have a record doing the opposite.
No man is perfect. Rick Perry will improve in these debates and will be the advocate against Obama that we need.

Wow, you didn’t exaggerate there at all did you.
I also advise people on a regular basis to do their own homework on Perry. Over the course of the last few weeks I have spent literally hours researching his policies, speeches, stances and beliefs. Including listening and watching hours worth of video of his speeches, interviews, press conferences etc. I have found a man who has a very strong belief system, at the very root of that belief system is the Judeo-Christian Bible.
Specifically on the subject of Israel I have found him to be one of the staunchest allies of her currently on the scene today. He has never, that I can find, amended his point of view.
I watched that video. I loved how he put the lighter away, the same way a lot of people do their inside the waistband concealed carry..
Plus, when the Rabbi said, “God Bless you”. Perry responded “God Bless ya, Brother.” It was just so Rick Perry, which I am sure some people find barfanourmous, but I find genuine, and sincere and very Texan.

I don’t back Perry, although if he is the Pub nominee, I will vote for him. However, he is indeed a staunch supporter of Israel, and that is the main thing I like about him. However again, he has that border/illegal alien position that for me is a deal breaker, bigtime.
In 2008, Perry helped expand the Muslim Histories and Culture Project, a teacher-training program spearheaded by Texas Ismailis that introduces Islamic history and culture curricula into Texas schools.
“I have supported this program from the very beginning, because we must bridge the gap of understanding between East and West if we ever hope to experience a future of peace and prosperity,” Perry said at the signing ceremony.
Perry has spent $400 million of our state dollars working to secure an INTERNATIONAL border -- he's put Texas Rangers on the border (1250 miles). He's asked for drones, boots on the ground and fences in urban areas -- FEDERAL responsibility by LAW. Crickets.
Perry does not believe in amnesty.
Perry wants the border sealed.
Perry wants the U.S. and Mexico to militarily join forces to drive out the drug cartels that Obama-Holder have armed.
In-state tuition is allowed for children born in Mexico and brought to Texas (and not removed by the Feds and who must not have their legal status asked in public schools by Fed law) -- who have attended 3 years of H.S. and graduated in Texas and are working toward citizenship to PAY instate tuition -- (the vast majority of them attend community college).
They will more likely stay in H.S., get a good job and pay into the pot, not take from the pot -- and that could make it more likely to vote GOP.
I understand your feelings and I’m not attacking you at all with what I say next. I would encourage you to dig deep and research his stance on the border, listen to him talk about the border outside of the debates where he has more then just a 1 minute timeframe to explain his plan. Watch him in a townhall setting (there’s many places but that’s just one example) and don’t cut him off when you hear him say that he is not for a fence. He is for a physical fence in some areas and for a different type of fence along the rest, including the areas with a physical fence.
As for the in-state tuition. He and I part company on that issue, I don’t agree with it. However, he has one redeeming quality on that issue and that is that he believes the states should decide for themselves.

I appreciate your fervent backing of your candidate choice, however, as to in-state tuition, what part of the word “illegal” don’t you understand? This issue, along with other comments Perry has made about a bi-national healthcare program, and comments on other border issues, is still a deal breaker for me. That’s how important I believe the issue of illegal immigration is to me, and to this country.

"Israel is a leader in security technology, and another reason for our visit to the Gaza border was to see some of the security measures being used there," said Perry.
"Kassam rockets have killed 28 Israelis over the last eight years. Well, 1,000 people have been killed in Juarez [Mexico, on the border with El Paso , Texas] since the beginning of the year [in drug-related violence]. So we're trying to find ways to secure that border, because just like it's important to Israelis to keep heavy security on their border with Gaza, it's important to citizens of Texas to keep out the illegal activities that are going on with drugs [in Mexico]……”.

I appreciate the fact that you can argue the issues, even disagree, without primal ravings. Something that seems to be almost a lost quality on this site. I have even been dragged there a few times myself, much to my shame. ;)
