LOIC (Low Orbit Ion Cannon) is an open source network stress testing application, written in C#. A JavaScript version has also been created enabling a DoS from a web browser.[1] LOIC was initially developed by Praetox Technologies, but later it was released into the public domain.[2]
LOIC named after a fictional weapon in the Command & Conquer series of video games.[3]
Anon has been using that for quite some time to attack various bizs and gov websites.
I’ve snooped on them in IRC during their DDOS attacks. They’ll say the meme “charging muh lazors” which means they are gearing up to run the program. Targets are selected by various forum leaders.
