Hank Williams, Jr., the voice famous for asking millions of football fans whether theyre ready for some football, has been pulled from tonights broadcast of Monday Night Football over a comment he made on Fox News this morning.
Williams, who sings the lead-in song to the game each week, criticized the president for his golf summit with House Speaker John Boehner this summer.
It would be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli leader) Benjamin Netanyahu, Williams told Fox & Friends.
USA Today, among others, picked up the quote, speculating on whether the comparison would get Williams booted from the broadcast .

Some Freepers called this early today.
omg everyone flip flops grow up libs,,,,,,,,,,,,
Hank, Are you ready for some unemployment?
Poor Hank, hand him a hankie, and he’d better get with the program - it’s Bush who’s like Hitler.
Geez, these country stars are really not too bright.
LOL
“Well Im going to yank espn.”
Make room. I’m with you, jersey.
ESPAM can go suck sewer water.
ESPN is totally co-opted by the hard left. Not sure how it happened, but it has been observed by many for quite a while.
Have you listened to Hank Williams III?
/sigh
When will people learn. Never drop the Hitler card. Don’t do it. Just don’t do it.
They fired Rush, after all, for saying something he didn't say!
The NFL called the shot on this one.
“Entertainers who engage in political commentary must be willing to deal with the consequences.”
I assume it works the other way, too: Networks that engage in left-wing Marxist PC politics must deal with the consequences.
What say you?
If it weren't for the Bucs playing at home, and being on TV locally for the first time in over two years, I would too! The Bucs, can't sell out their stadium, so we're blacked out when they play at home.
I seldomly watch ESPN anyway, because of their liberal, hip hop view of sporting news.
“What say you?”
I’ll say that ESPN and the NFL will continue to make tons of cash with or without Hank Jr.
I just visited ESPN.com and the comments on this are coming in so fast it is hard to keep up. Of course all those angry at Hank Jr., and those supporting him, are being called racist.
So, the level of lib response is at its usual sophmoric level.
That didn’t take long.
Surely, you remember that's where Olberdork got his start!
Never invoke Hitler, there is never an upside to it, but always plenty of downside.
Let the free market decide. Cancel ESPN to send a message and see what happens. I can assure you the lefties are all over ESPN to get rid of Hank.
Since I don’t watch ESPN and MNF was horrible the last time I watched (The booth was having a conversation unrelated to the game while completely ignoring the action on the field) I can’t exactly boycott something I already don’t watch.
