The meeting took place and Perry X’ed the TTC. Doesn't matter who the guy was or who he took money from. The fact is the meeting took place is credible and verifiable. I understand you have something else you'd like to hang on and believe...that is not my problem but yours. But these are facts and the truth.

It does matter who the guy took money from. And it does matter that Perry tried to push the TTC in the first place. If Obama tried to push the TTC, people would be in the streets. Perry does it, but we rebuffed him, so it's no harm, no foul. Guess what? I don't want a Republican that we have to constantly force to be a Conservative, and a true Conservative would never have tried to force the TTC on us in the first place. A true Conservative would definitely have not tried to use a foreign company as the primary contractor as well. That was just spitting in our faces.

Why can't we have a Conservative that we can trust not to try and do things like the TTC, the Gardisil crap, supporting La Raza, etc., etc., etc.?

Are Conservatives in such short supply that we can accept Republicans who think it's okay to take half a million acres from Texans and have some foreign company come in and build a huge corridor from Mexico to Oklahoma? Don't forget that within a year of the TTC being killed off, Perry was out there preaching the gospel of property rights. That's the kind of hypocrisy that actually kind of fascinates me about Perry. People make him out to be stupid, but not many politicians could go for a half a million acre land grab and then be talking about respecting private property rights a year later.
