Hopefully Cain has learned a couple important lessons from these two mistakes. The media is not his friend.

Pray for America

Gingrich doesn’t have a bandwagon, unfortunately.... he is stuck with a couch.

Gingrich is the smartest man in the room, but he’s shot himself in the foot so many times that he will simply never make it.

However, I do like seeing him in the debates.

But, since he’s a conservative, he will continue to be attacked over it.

Correct. And that's why he was right not to apologize. He needs to stand his ground and go after any of the MSM who tries to keep it going.

People should get over these “sensitivities.” I am a 67 year old American of Polish and Italian descent. You’d probably have to be my age to remember all the Polack and Dago jokes. Thing is, back then I laughted at them along with everyone else because a joke is a joke and I came back with my own. Back then it was said that sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me. I still believe that today. This country has become sooooooo politically correct that you can’t say boo to anyone anymore. Long gone are the days when people gathered around common areas and enjoyed themselves. I was allowed to go out at night but had to be home before the street lights came on during the week and we were safe. Who does that today? Do kids play ball in the vacant lot or school yard anymore? This country is not the same today as it was when I was young and that is a terrible shame because it was good living back then. Back then a kid could bring a gun to school for show and tell and the S.W.A.T. Squad wasn’t called out. Back then the “N” word was tossed around a lot - but mostly by black people themselves. Sorry, I’m rambling. I just wish people would get over themselves and not be so thin-skinned, no matter what the color of that skin. I used to say, we all bleed red blood which makes us all the same.

I think Cain’s comments make Cain look bad, not Perry.

Cain is not ready for prime time. His answer should have been a lot more measured and non-committal.

His stock just went down.

I accept this response from Cain. Let’s move on.

(Disclosure: I like a lot of things Cain has said, and if the primary were today would vote for him)

I agree, but there was another Cain remark from last week that Cain needs to clear up. See my post in another thread:

Blitzer: Could you support Rick Perry if he was the nominee?
Cain: Today, I could not support Rick Perry as the nominee for a host of reasons.

Let’s quit eating each other on our side over stupid statements like this when we agree on POLICY issues. We are playing into the left and media’s hands.

I couldn't agree more, and I thought we were all smarter than that.

Guess I was wrong...

Cain’s statement is clear: “End of story”. No apology was or is necessary.

.

“All I said was the mere fact that that word was there was ‘insensitive.’” Cain responded. “That’s not playing the race card. I am not attacking Gov. Perry. Some people in the media want to attack him. I’m done with that issue!”
Herman Cain is a BALD FACED LIAR! Here are Cain’s actual quotes:

1. And since Governor Perry has been going there for years to hunt, I think that shows a lack of sensitivity for a long time of not taking that word off of that rock and rename the place. It’s just a basic case of insensitivity.”

2. “For him to leave it there as long as he did before I hear that they finally painted over it is just plain insensitive to a lot of black people in this country,” Cain said.

Cain pulled the race card.
He attacked Perry and LIED about it, saying he didn’t.

I knew it was only a matter of time before this would would pop out in Cain.
He is no different.
I’m glad so many have found this out.

and the last time I checked, I’m still heartless

And that's a lot worse than "insensitive".

Yep.

I am getting sick and tired of black folks whining. Jews lost 6 million people in the Holocaust, but they aren't whining.

Give this black thang a fricken rest. We've had enough. Life sucks...get over it and get strong.

Names cannot hurt a person unless that person wants to whine and suffer about that name. Get over it!

It seems to me oriental immigrants were discriminated against also, but they worked and educated themselves.
Most blacks don’t want to work. They want to sit back and whine about slavery and have everything handed to them.
