Actual Title:FDR Goes to War: How Expanded Executive Power, Spiraling National Debt, and Restricted Civil Liberties Shaped Wartime America FTA:Did World War II really end the Great Depressionor did President Franklin Roosevelts poor judgment and confused management leave Congress with a devastating fiscal mess after the final bomb was dropped? In this provocative new book, historians Burton W. Folsom, Jr., and Anita Folsom make a compelling case that FDRs presidency led to evasive and self-serving wartime policies. At a time when most Americans held isolationist sentimentsa backlash against the stunning carnage of World War IRoosevelt secretly favored an aggressive interventionist foreign policy. Yet, throughout the 1930s, he spent lavishly on his disastrous New Deal programs and slashed defense spending, leaving America vastly unprepared for Japans attack on Pearl Harbor and the challenge of fighting World War II.. ==================================================================================================================================================================== Finally, for all those of us who've known the truth about FDR, this book provides a treasure trove of information that political adversaries, historical revisionists and their ilk will have a very hard time dealing with.
thanks.
Really great books. Once read, you will have a real insight into what the Food Stamp President and the progressives are really up to. The similarities are stunning and alarming.
Thanks for the info

A couple of things come to my mind. The plight of Americans of Japanese origin and the Great Sedition Trial of 1944.
I was born a little before we entered the wars so I do not recall news at the time of the actual events.
As for the former many were relocated and others were interned because they were suspected of being pro-Imperial Japan. Basically most were moved for their own protection. Thus a proposition for C.A.I.R. and the like Muslims living here; to wit, they feel threatened and in danger. I propose that they be relocated for their own safety. It's the least we can do.
The Great Sedition Trial luckily turned out to be a farce. Many believed that if Roosevelt -- AND the Stalin admirers and some cases friends of Stalin -- got their way with the little-people critics of their administration then the big-people critics of Roosevelt like Taft and the publisher of the Chicago Tribune would be prosecuted next.
We are entering a similar phase now but the Obama administration appears to have chosen the streets to prosecute their critics. At least Obama's extended administration, Van Jones, appears to have that task.
Thanks for posting. BTTT!
Thanks, I will check it out.
