A couple of things come to my mind. The plight of Americans of Japanese origin and the Great Sedition Trial of 1944.

I was born a little before we entered the wars so I do not recall news at the time of the actual events.

As for the former many were relocated and others were interned because they were suspected of being pro-Imperial Japan. Basically most were moved for their own protection. Thus a proposition for C.A.I.R. and the like Muslims living here; to wit, they feel threatened and in danger. I propose that they be relocated for their own safety. It's the least we can do.

The Great Sedition Trial luckily turned out to be a farce. Many believed that if Roosevelt -- AND the Stalin admirers and some cases friends of Stalin -- got their way with the little-people critics of their administration then the big-people critics of Roosevelt like Taft and the publisher of the Chicago Tribune would be prosecuted next.

We are entering a similar phase now but the Obama administration appears to have chosen the streets to prosecute their critics. At least Obama's extended administration, Van Jones, appears to have that task.
