It is a handful of Perry and Ron Paul supporters that are leading the charge on this. It’s the same people on every post about Cain. It has been going on since Perry entered the race, and not just because of today either. Remember how they tore apart Bachmann on FR because she brought up Gardisil?

What I find sad is how “conservatives” on FR are taking the bait.

“is that appropriate protocol for our service men?”

Seems like that’s not important anymore, doesn’t it?

Well, I don’t know what the full story may have been. He told the interviewer something to the effect that “you don’t dare speak the name of the place [because you’re white, understood], but it was Niggerhead.”

Now possibly the interviewer filled him in before the interview and told him that off the air, or possibly he saw the story and read it. If he DIDN’T see the story, then certainly he had no business attacking Perry until he knew all the details. You shouldn’t go charging in on something like this without knowing them—especially the fact that this was ancient history and that Perry and his father had absolutely nothing to do with naming the place.

“Herman Cain will add a heavyweight to his campaign staff on Monday. Taking over as campaign spokesman will be J.D. Gordon, who served as a Pentagon spokesman from 2005-2009 under Donald Rumsfeld and Robert Gates. Gordon is a retired Navy commander.”

Where's a good Fiscally and Socially Conservative supposed to go?

For me, it's Sarah. I'm praying every day that she will run.

It feels like we are riding on one junker to another junker while the Rolls Royce is on the sidelines, locked away. (for now!)

Sadly, I must agree.

Mr. Cain needs to respond to questions that are relevant to his positions. Deflect the rest. Like names on rocks or an incident of “booing” that was not an audience wide event.

He is being played by the media. But...I probably would be as well. He is not a politician. He is a good man that I still won't discount. But he is probably pretty new at the traps the media thows.

If you want the perfect candidate then it’s up to you to be that perfect candidate instead of placing your hopes and dreams with someone else.

No, Herman Cain is the one who is taking the bait. Here's some from Juan himself:

Separately, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said that the GOP candidates at the debate should have defended the soldier. "The fact is we should honor every man and woman who is serving in the military and should in no way treat them with anything but the highest regard," he told CBS' "Face the Nation."

I saw Mr. Cain’s appearance on This Week.

In response to Ms. ImanPour’s relentless questioning, Herman Cain clearly said that BECAUSE of the controversy this topic has created, therefore, and in retrospect, he would have addressed the booing. He also stated that, since he was not the moderator, he was not in a position to control the audience’s reaction. Finally, he clarified that he personally believes the audience did not boo the gay soldier, but rather, his position on gay politics, i.e., don’t ask, don’t tell (if we even know that this is why the audience was booing).

Additionally, Cain addressed the all important issue of sharia law in America. Great job with that response as well.

About ImanPour’s closing re: sharia law, she said, “American laws are in American courts, so the people of this country should be safe for the moment.” WHAT THE HELL did she mean by that? I’ve often felt that this woman is a mole in our country. I only taped the show today because Herman Cain was going to be a guest.

Cain is still my number one choice.

He’s not for the fence

If you are talking about a 1,500 mile fence it's a really stupid idea for a lot reasons, not the least of which that it would cost A LOT more money than patrols and UAVs

Make another pick,

You pushing Romney? LOLOL

besides what about N@ggerhead, not good.

What about it? You think his hunting on land with a name that he found offensive and painted over somehow shows a lack of character?

You can have Mitt. I'll stick with Perry.

Why are so many confuses on this thread reacting to the misleading headline rather than McCain’s reasonable response, which wasn’t bad like Santorum’s? Mark Levin PROVED they didn’t boo him until he talked about reversing ‘progress’ (barf) for fags, and that there were exactly TWO people booing in the entire - huge - audience. Cain basically says that here. So why the attacks on him here? PerryBot desperation?

Yes it’s a bit reminiscent of events leading to Obama’s “beer summit”.

White guy, is always presumed guilty, as a more-PC direct substitution for the other sort of racism.

Thought we were beyond that. America is far different now.

Let it go.

I can’t believe how quickly Freepers here are taking the drive by bait on one of our candidates - what Cain said was:

Cain said it wasn’t immediately clear to him what had drawn the audience’s scorn, adding, “I happen to think that maybe they were booing the whole ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ repeal more so than booing that soldier.”

Drive By Trolls on FR tonite are high-fiving each other for having so easily strung so many of you along. We have to stand WITH our candidates, not help the media destroy them, and keep our end-goal in mind - Obama and his Progressives must be defeated.

GOP should turn to Obama and say we’re not the speech police and turn his words against him.

All this is a straw argument. The audience did not boo. It was confined to one or two individuals whom the rest of the audience immediately hushed up. The couple who booed could well have been mistaken by those on the platform as booing the soldier’s implicit point that openly gay people should be allowed to serve in the military. Nothing wrong with that and this is what Cain says he thought.
