Vote for Cain? He may be the GOP's best bet
Chicago Tribune ^ | October 2, 2011 | Clarence the Crosseyed Page

I have decided to endorse Herman Cain to be the Republican Party's candidate for president. No, I am not crazy.

I hear the pleas of those who challenge me to give "The Herminator" a chance. In these angry times on the right, Cain and the Grand Old Party seem to deserve one another.

Besides, it would be exciting to see the Party of Abe Lincoln challenge President Barack Obama with a nominee whose ancestors — unlike Obama's — were freed by President Lincoln.

Although I have not regarded Cain's chances with utmost respect ("No way," is my usual description), he's gaining acceptance. He's earning it. He's making himself matter on several fronts.

For one, polls show Cain's long-shot status doesn't look so long any more. He tripled his support to 17 percent, up from a measly 6 percent before the last three Republican debates, in the latest Fox News poll. That puts him in a respectable third place, right behind Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who fell to 19 percent from 29 percent a month earlier. That allowed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, holding steady at 23 percent, to regain his front-runner status.

Well, at least it's beginning to dawn on these 'rats like Page, little by little, that 0bama isn't what he claims to be.

I would certainly trust Clarence Page to have the best interests of the GOP at heart.

Do I really need a sarcasm tag. Really?

After Cain played the race card today, I have no use for him at all.

Mr Page,

It not Mr Cain nor the GOP who are “angry”. Take a close look at the violent, hysteric out of control rhetoric of your own party and faction before having the arrogance to accuse the Right of any such mythical short comings.

Yep, Herman Sharpton was a huge disappointment today.

He was just being "sensitive."

That makes it OK to play it.

When did Cain play the race card? I haven’t heard this.

Cain did not play the race card. When the Perrybots start lying about the opposition because they cannot factually address the issues, they have lost the debate.

Or do you REALLY want to claim painting “Nigg..head” on a rock at the family hunting camp was NOT a rather stupid thing for the Perry family to do

“For example, he said during a GOP debate that “If Obamacare had been fully implemented when I caught cancer, I’d be dead.” He said that’s because he was able to get the doctors and treatment that he needed without having to “wait six months like they do in other countries before they get a CAT scan.” In fact, “Obamacare” does nothing of the sort.

Cain appears to have confused Obama’s health care act with the socialized health care in the United Kingdom or single-payer plans like Canada. Obama bent over backward to avoid systems like that and preserve the private insurance like Cain can afford to produce a public-private partnership. Cain would have had the same access to doctors and treatment, but so would millions of other adults and children who did not have coverage before.”

Perhaps Cain understands what Page does not. If you give millions of people access to treatment that they did not have before while maintaining the same number of doctors, how do you get the same service?

I agree completely.

Chicago Tribune? Endorsement? Really? Consider the source.

Cain cooked it today for me and I’ve been thinking he might have the right stuff. My gut said no at first and I gave him a chance.

Now it is NO to Cain.

Actually Cain is in a better position today than the long shot Reagan was many years ago.

You dolt, Perry’s father painted out the name shortly after he leased the property, because he found it offensive. The name was on the rock before Perry’s father leased the property.

The Reverand Cain just blew it today with his race baiting.

If I wanted to vote for a race pimp, I’d vote Democratic.

No he did not. You seem to be wonderfully ignorant of what is IN Obama care.

As Mr Cain stated at the debate, he was able to be cured because the Dr were able to immediately take aggressive action to cure his cancer. Under O-care, that action would be delayed while Government Bureaucrats decided if his treatment was cost effective.

Perhaps instead of fraudulent accusing Mr Cain of ignorance, you might want to cure your complete ignorance of what is actually IN 0 care.

Funny how supporters of the guy who said, “It doesn’t matter what the sound of your last name is” are now crying about this.
