MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (AP) Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry said Saturday that he is open to sending American troops to Mexico to help battle drug cartels.
((snip))
Mexico's government, however, has been opposed to foreign forces in its territory.

Moreover, Cain says he could never support Perry because of their differences on border security.
And your calling Cain "everyone's favorite uncle" tags you as a kook. Why not put on your hood on and add the name "Tom" after uncle? You do realize that the left is saying the same thing -- don't you? Of course you do.
I eat my breakfast two hours by car from the Mexican border so don’t think for a moment you can post a Perry Platypus cartoon on Free Republic...and make me nervous.
Seems they've been invading us for quite some time now. Even longer if you don't just count the drug cartels.
But I think O-bummer had the right idea. Build some more of those predator drones from the middle east and send them over Mexico. Surely we know where the chief scum bags live.
We’re already doing some of this, and it appears that local and State forces will be training Mexican law enforcement:

That they have. Which is exactly why we need a president who does not have a history of pandering to the ILLEGAL invaders.
Don't forget that not even Black Jack Pershing, with assistance from Georgie Patton, managed to get Pancho Villa.
OTOH, they didn't' have Predator Drones armed with Hellfire missiles.

Cain pulling back on that statement somewhat about Perry. He now says he is a “good governor” on Leno last night.

Plus there's a lot of Mexican policemen to round up and execute.
But the reality is it's a failed state.
But... if you ever fight a war you need to do it the old-school way. No prisoners. And that goes for the WOT as well. Put all the top capos' heads on pikes in front of the White House.
Just my two cents.
If I didn’t have family on the line in this fight I would laugh, but this crap is serious. Pray for our guys and gals that are on the line in this battle.. knowing they have inept support from those they work for in the Fed Gov.
For a period in the 1990s, US Army personnel were stationed along the U.S.-Mexico border to help stem the flow of illegal immigrants and drug smugglers.
These military units brought their specialized equipment such as FLIR (forward looking infrared) devices and helicopters. ..... they would deploy along the border and, for a brief time, there would be no traffic across that border which was actively watched by “coyotes” paid to assist border crossers.
The smugglers and the alien traffickers simply ceased operations over the one hundred mile sections of the border sealed at a time. It was very effective ...but temporary... as the illegal traffic resumed as soon as the military withdrew.

The Border Patrol has suffered more in the line of duty deaths than any other federal law enforcement agency since the patrolling of the border began in 1904.
Thank you for pointing this out.
Actually the US has already committed an Act of War against Mexico when hundreds of military grade weapons (AK47's, 50 Caliber Sniper Rifles, Grenades, Etc.) were sold to agents representing anti-government forces within Mexico.
Perry is an idiot, you do not need any further proof.
good one.......
Congress would neve allow it,they need the bribe money.
US troops (particularly Special Forces) were very important in getting a grip on the problem in Columbia, which had exactly the same problem with its drug gangs, combined in that case with overt Marxist guerrillas (FARC).
Mexico doesn’t have the latter, although it is well known that the drug gangs work closely with the leftist groups, in some cases, leaders of the municipal unions. Drug supply and shipment to the US through Mexico is one of the big money sources for the two most Marxist countries in Latin America, which are Cuba and Venezuela.
Mexico requested help from the US some time ago in the form of military advisers, but I don’t think Bambi wanted to give it, probably because it would interefere with a leftist “revolutionary” funding source. However, since then, I think the Mexican government has seen things like Fast and Furious and does not trust the US in any way. Perhaps this will change once Obama is out of office.
And how many of our troops will be sitting ducks? No thank you. Many of us Texans have tried time and time again to warn y'all about this guy only to get flamed. Now, maybe some of you are stepping away from the hair spray.
