NEW YORK (AP) -- New York City police say about 500 protesters have been arrested after they swarmed the Brooklyn Bridge and shut down a lane of traffic for several hours.
Police say some demonstrators spilled onto the roadway Saturday night after being told to stay on the pedestrian pathway. They face disorderly conduct and other charges. The lane has since reopened.
Occupy Wall Street demonstrators are railing against corporate greed, global warming and social inequality, among other grievances.
The group has been camped near the Financial District for two weeks and clashed with police on earlier occasions.
Earlier Saturday, two other marches went over the bridge without problems.

The real story could have been if a couple of those libtards jumped off the bridge as not to get arrested!

Personally I feel it was way past time they be dispersed, police should bring out the fire hoses and flush the area. The idiots think they are the equivalent of the Tea Parties. I still haven't seen anything indicating they had permits etc., and I know the Tea Parties all complied with the law regarding permits, sanitation and gathering places.

I agree,as long as the jump was quick or some poor slob cop would be sent up to “rescue” them.

I predict flash mobs from these gatherings in the near future with the mobs greedily robbing merchants of life essentials such as big screen TVs, $150 sneakers, jewelery, etc. Justification will be rationalized by the MSM as evening the playing field.
