Awesome.

What fast results. You can tell by that ‘natural move’ (meaning no one rounded them up and kicked them out), that the policy is sound and effective.

Kudos Alabama!

NYC and NJ will never get that with Bloomie and Christie.

To all those on here who actually think Cristie is conservative, you’re out of your mind.

He’s the best thing we’ve had in like forever over in NJ, but that’s not saying much in terms of conservatism. Someone who isn’t insane and actually cares about balanced books and lowering taxes (like Christie) isn’t that high a standard for conservatism. I mean I would at least hope these views are shared by any SANE person, moderate or conservative.

Christie is great for NJ and the NYC area from a promoting non-liberal economics perspective, but he is way too far liberal/mopderate to represent conservatives nationally and bring the real change and HOPE (lol always love saying that) that we need in Washington.

“scores of immigrant families have withdrawn their children” ...”reported a sudden exodus of children”

Scores are an “exodus”?

They may be keeping the children home, but they are still here. The Tyson chicken processing plant up in Boaz, AL is still full of them. The entire Sand Mountain area up there, Boaz, Gunnersville, Abertville, etc. are covered with them. Local WalMart is little Mexico City on weekends. The place is packed with them.

I don't care how many LEGAL immigrants come here and from what countries. Mexicans are welcome IF they follow the law, come here legally, get the work permits, find a job, work, live, pay taxes like everyone else. ALL are welcome. That is what America is. But, I do not support illegals from anywhere! I don't care if they come from England, france, Germany, Norway. If they are illegal, they are illegal, period. Come under the law and be welcomed. Come illegally and you need kicked out. That simple.

Education officials say scores of immigrant families have withdrawn their children from classes or kept them home this week, afraid that sending the kids to school would draw attention from authorities.
............................................................

And keeping scores of kids home , doesn’t draw attention

DUH!!!!!

Hispanic students have started vanishing from Alabama public schools in the wake of a court ruling that upheld the state's tough new law cracking down on illegal immigration.

If you pass it, they will leave.

I also noticed that my Saturday morning yard sale-ing was conspicuously thin on the latino contingent here in Guadala-Hoover.

Same thing is happening in Arizona since they passed their law too.

So much for blaming the feds and not doing anything about it.

Gotta have that federal student support money.

Texas isn’t serious about illegals because illegals, or the advantages provided by them in “cheap” labor, are too popular with so many.

Bravo Alabama!

Yes you are correct for the most part BUT politicians in Alabama don't have to worry about a huge Hispanic Voting Block the way Perry does in Texas, at least not yet. But I suspect that if Perry were to be elected in a national election, he would be tougher on immigration.

Here the problem: California, New York, Florida, Texas, Illinois. The Hispanics control the swing votes in these states. This is real leverage and both the Republicans and Democrats know this. This is an enormous number of electoral votes and Republicans must win at least 2 or 3 of these states. Forget California, it's a lost cause and won't even be part of the United States in 25 years. So Perry is on thin ice and has to play his hand very carefully. Politicians in Alabama can afford for the time being to be much tougher.

Practical politics, simple as that.

Exactly.

We need a conservative candidate to face Obama, not another pro-ILLEGAL alien liberal.
