The attorneys appeared before a meeting of the Fair Political Practices Commission in Sacramento as it considered options for candidates whose campaign accounts evaporated in the scandal involving longtime Democratic treasurer Kinde Durkee.

“....relax financial reporting rules temporarily and waive some contribution limits...”

Translation: Our perfectly good stolen Solyndra bribe money was in turn stolen. So now we need bigger campaign contribution limits than Republicans for our One Party Tyranny. And we need you to look the other way for some even sleezier scams we plan.

Let’s see, why would I donate to someone who can’t manage his own campaign funds? In fact, why would I vote for someone who can’t manage his purse? Then again, they are Democrats and we all know that they throw money away. They just are niggardly with their own cash.

And, after getting the waivers and removing caps on donations, the lost money will resurface and they’ll have a lot more than if everything remained the same...

Everyone who has ever been ripped off by a Democrat should get a waiver.

Waivers for everybody!

The problem here is not the remedy sought but the precedent that it will inevitably set. Something like what these candidates want can easily be seen to evolve into waivers on ‘accidentally’ too large donations, or too late donations. Next come allegations of fraud being sufficient to waive limitations and on it goes!

Just an added benefit for the Democrats. Something bigger going on here.

So....We lost a bunch of money that we had legally raised to theft, so now we should be able to violate the fundraising laws in order to replenish? That evades logic.

It does not appear that she spent much on herself but she may have eaten up some.

This is just one more way of saying “We are democrats. The laws don’t apply to us.”
