I thought of Saul Alinsky when I posted this. “Make them keep their rules. Point out their hypocrisy.” The guy was obviously a bad guy. If this had been Bush the Left would be talking impeachment for blowing up an American citizen. For denying him his due process. Bet we don’t hear a peep out of the ACLU. This is the first time I think we (U.S. Government) have openly killed an American citizen on purpose. And bragged about it.This is where the rubber meets the road for the ACLU, because apparently they tried to get permission to defend Al Awklawi and were refused. Are they going to pursue it loudly or fall in line with getting Obama re-elected? Hmmmmmm.....
The ACLU will put the lowest guy in the office to go after this. But it won't be a high priority.
The about face has been very amusing. I think some people on this thread have missed the point entirely.
Obama has changed his views on(remember when):
- Reading combatants their Miranda rights.
- Closing of Gitmo.
- Military trials (Gitmo) vs. Civil trials (New York).
- Indefinite Detention.
- Enhanced Interrogation techniques.
- The Patriot Act.
- The Iraqi surge.
- Killing American citizens..
