Dude.
Mike Huckabee has been approached by Republican and conservative activists unhappy with the current crop of presidential hopefuls and he is considering entering the fray, two sources who have spoken with Huckabee told Reuters
He is entertaining the request for conversations about it, one of the sources said. I do not think it is a complete 100 percent Im reconsidering but he hasnt shut the door on it.
One of the sources said Huckabee was urged to enter after the recent stumbles of Texas Governor Rick Perry, who appeals to a similar right wing of the Republican party.
I wont belabor his history with Perry yet again, but suffice it to say that hes not a fan of either of the two frontrunners so hed naturally relish the chance to be the white knight that vanquishes both. Just one teensy question: Er, hows he going to do that? Weve spent the past week reading stories about how close Christie and Palin are cutting it by waiting so long to jump in. Huckabee would face the same organizational problems plus a distinct disadvantage vis-a-vis Romney, Perry, and Christie in terms of fundraising, with those three able to draw on big donors in a way that Huck wouldnt. (That disadvantage could be lethal if we end up with a long primary season.) And of course Perry will take a chunk out of Huckabees base among southerners and evangelicals, so hell have a harder time running now than he would have had by jumping in early, which might have scared Perry off.

All this talk about Huckabee, Christy, et.al. jumping into the GOP primary is an effort to ‘flood the zone’ so that when Sarah announces, she’ll be seen as just ‘one more last minute idiot.’
But it will not work.
We’ve known for a long time that “Sarah & the Tea Party are coming”
OH, H*LL NO! Because of that dolt, Republicans wound up with McLame, the Zero.
Hey, the more the merrier. Why not? LOL
As opposed to what? Romney? I don’t want to argue 2008 all over again, but in a three way race between McCain, Romney and Huckabee, Huck was the most conservative of the three. That’s why Duncan Hunter endorsed him when he dropped out.
I don’t want to hear one word about how it’s too late for Palin. Not. One. Word.
Some brilliant person around here said awhile back, “pretty soon every voter will have their own candidate”.
Agree wholeheartedly.
Give me a break! The only guy we need to enter the race is Marco Rubio.
We need Rubio -- then you can say, "Enough!"
Like this season, they kept thinking someone would ride in to the rescue. In the end, no one did. Hence, McCain won because by the time conservative realized they had to choose between McCain, Huckabee, and Romney, it was too late.
Personally, I think Huckabee would have been the best of the three, even though any of them would probably have been defeated against the One. If anyone could have beaten the Messiah, it would have been Huckabee.
This year is the same story. Weak field. No enthusiam. The base is waiting for the Great Pumpkin. For the "establishment" side of the base, that's Christie. For the Tea Party, it was Perry, til he showed his colors. Or Cain---he'll flame out soon enough. Or Palin.
Which to me suggests that Romney will win just like McCain did---by default. If the Tea Party wants the WH, they need to get some people to win a statehouse somewhere and establish their bona fides. America is not going to elect Christine O'Donnell president.
No, No, No, No, No, No!
Please...No.
Great another friggin RHINO
I'll concede that Huck would have been better than McCain, but that's nothing. IMHO, Huck took the 'Christian' SoCon vote that would have gone to Fred, only because he pandered to that in his inimitable televangelist way - phony. If Huck wasn't propelled out of the sub 5% by the MSM because they WERE scared of Fred, Fred Dalton Thompson would be President today.
I think Fred pretty well sealed his own fate. You can blame Huckabee for Fred not having a pulse.
I still hold out a little hope. He has never said “no” with the same fervency as Christie, for example.
Uhhhnt! Wrong.
