‘The Rogue’ sells 6,000 copies in first week

Joe McGinniss’s controversial book “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin” sold 6,034 copies in its first six days on bookshelves, according to Nielsen Bookscan.

The book did best in the Pacific geographic area, which includes Alaska, selling more than 1,500 copies, while “The Rogue” sold fewer than 500 copies in the Northeast, which includes New York, according to the International Business Tribune. BookScan tracks sales for about 75 percent of books sold in the United States.

The book, which has been both panned by critics and seen excerpts go viral on the Internet, currently ranks 116th on Amazon’s Best Sellers, and according to IBT was the 16th best-selling new hardcover last week. It’s possible the buzz and controversy over the book’s most salacious revelations dampened enthusiasm to buy the actual book if potential customers believed they had already been exposed to the most explosive allegations in “The Rogue.”

Spare yourself this experience.....I just went over to Amazon...unreal. Some of the lengthiest reviews I’ve ever seen. And for the most part recommending the book. The reviews are tomes in themselves, penned by a few Palin haters...just click on any of their ‘other’ reviews and you’ll see they’ve got a bullseye on her works.

Insipid cretins, they’ve niothing better to do. I just wasted three minutes of my own time skimming through their tripe.

It’ll be in the remainder bins before Christmas.

My guess is they have already stopped printing copies. I doubt anyone will remember this by Christmas.

LOL! True. But fiction also sells better if it is even somewhat grounded in believable reality.

One library ordered 16 copies of one book? That librarian needs to be fired. Why are librarians always brain-dead leftists, anyway? Is the work too boring for a real person?

Does anyone know what the print run of this sales pig was?

I think I saw the number 700,000 somewhere on this thread.

While it’s not on the level of anything by Ann Colter, our “Patriot’s History of the United States” at one point was SHIPPING 19,000 a day to keep up with demand.

6000 copies with all that publicity? The stalker is not going to get much of a return on his six months living next door to the Palins. I’ll bet he didn’t even get a good look at the Palin girls (boys?) in their swimsuits, so it wasn’t even much of a thrill.

About 5000 of them are gathering dust in Teamster warehouses. Bob

To be fair, they often order that many copies of Right Wing Hater books too, depending on the demand. If 200 people reserve it, they will order numerous copies. But in this case, I think their order is based on what they wish, rather than what is. They ordered at least a dozen copies of Nancy Pelosi’s masterpiece, too. Nobody read that boat anchor. Even the libs who read it said it was terrible.
