With a .45 you are not 100% sure of no suffering. Plus there is the blood splatter from potentially HIV contaminated blood.

The Constitution say no cruel and unusual punishment. It doesn’t say NO suffering.

If you point it the right way, it splatters away from you.

You could pull a muscle on your trigger finger, or get a a mild strain from the recoil if it hits you wrong.
