Man Planning to Attack Pentagon Arrested
Fox News Channel (no link)

On Fox. Man arrested for trying to bomb Pentagon with a UAV. US citizen. Not identified. Was going to pack model F-86 RC model with explosives and hit Pentagon. Also bought six AK-47s (this sounds wrong as machine guns cannot be purchased witout a special license and someone buying six at a time would send up red flares).
Developing.

There are of course non-select-fire civilian AK-47s.

He’s probably seeking street cred for his future job as an Obama ghost writer.

Journo’s call ANYTHING AK’s, but if ole Rez’ AK’s are Fast & Furious AK’s (and I’m praying that they are, though I bought it), then this is going to really, really explode.
He could have bought them before the F&F mess began.
Oh pleeeeease..!!!
Think about it: FBI & ATF permitted sale of AK’s that would have attacked the PENTAGON.
I mean..it’s be the end of Obamugabe, post haste.

There are also the "special" select-fire kind that you buy from the "special" people, usually from the trunks of cars, for cash.
Back to the RC plane with explosives...unless he got it through a window, it'd probably blacken the outside of the building, and that's all. If he thought he was gonna do any real damage...
Heck, remember the guy in the Cessna that hit the White House? He bounced off....

correction: “though I bought it” should read, “though I DOUBT it”

Not if you purchase them in the Middle East and have the smuggled in. You can get them for $50 each in Africa if you can get them back into the US.

You don't even have to smuggle in the whole rifle. Just smuggle in the receiver part, and swap it into a domestic semi-auto AK.
In Pakistan they've been making AK clones for decades in home workshops. All a jihad group needs to do is to get a Pak machinist who knows how to make an AK receiver to immigrate and set him up with the tools.

I didn't even consider parts. A valid point when you consider that the first one was made by a tank sergeant in a bombed out railroad shop. The main virtue of the AK-47 is it's lose tolerances. So just swapping out the receiver would be very possible for a basement shop with the right tools. All of which you could probably order on line from different dealers in half an hour without ever having to show your face.

“US Citizen”
Yeah, but not what I would call a homegrown terrorist. This shows the long term foolishness, danger, and bankruptcy of overly generous immigration policies based on family connections, diversity, and lotteries. If we did immigration right, we’d have fewer border jumpers, fewer line jumpers, and more people coming who are talented and buy into what was the American Way.

Probably semi auto AK 47’s. The US import laws do not allow full selector AK 47’s or AK 74’s even with a class 3 stamp. They are all semi auto.

Actually not as easy as you might think, since it's all riveted together. It's stupid easy to make one full auto though without changing the receiver.
