If Cain performs like he did in FL this week, he has a chance. He has polished his skills and knowledge base and was on target in every area.... economic, foreign policy, conservatism, etc. He was great all along, but fell short in the early debates and events on specifics in foreign issues. He’s a fast study, for sure. A very bright man.

"He’s a fast study, for sure. A very bright man."

That is what caught my eye. At first I thought of him as a decent hard-working guy with a pleasing flourish with words, but not a truly serious candidate, kind of over his head.

But every time I see him, he seems more and more on top of things. He's improving every day (which is the story of his life). He IS a quick study and understands thoroughly the basic principles of leadership.

He will need to team up with someone who knows the Byzantine inner workings of the political process, but Cain seems like EXACTLY the guy who understands that and will make sure he gets the right people for that function. Sarah's fade will be Cain's gain.
