Sources: Christie Definitely a 'No' for 2012

Chris Christie say he has finally made a definitive decision, once and for all, not to run for president in 2012, sources close to the New Jersey governor told Fox News on Tuesday.

Despite the intensity that has heightened in recent days as the New Jersey governor prepares to deliver a speech Tuesday at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, several people close to the governor insist he has not changed his mind to forego a presidential bid.

Christie is on tour, attending seven fundraisers in three states, which has fueled speculation that he could be preparing for a 2012 bid. And some people near the governor have been trying very hard -- however futilely, it would appear -- to convince him to get in the race, especially after last week's debate GOP showed the field is still open.

Good! Why in the world would we want another candidate to the left of Perry and the to the right of Romney?

Romney and Perry do a perfectly adequate job of representing the RINO wing of the party. When do you suppose the party bosses will figure out the problem isn’t that there are not too few RINOs in the race but that RINOism isn’t selling as well as they expect?

the whole point of Christie is because the RINO bluebloods know that Romney has serious electability problems.

Aside from any questions about ideology, the guy we want is the guy who speaks and thinks on his feet best, i.e. we want the greatest possible contrast to Obama. Christie would surely have qualified on that basis.

Rudy’s phone is probably ringing now.

There is a lot of East Coast GOP $$$$ on the sidelines waiting for the right RINO. They don’t think Mitt is electable, and Perry is too Texan for them.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a “Draft Jeb Bush” movement in the works.

GO CAIN!!!

Oh...now you are just getting me on...THE CAIN TRAIN!

Can’t help but be buoyed by his infectious positivity. We shall see what shakes out in these debates....but it’s nice to have a ray of sunshine in this mess.

I do believe I’m going to send of a $9 check to Mister 999!

Romney would be most presentable. But he’s a Mormon and that’s just a bit too different for the blueblood rino’s. It’s not that they are serious about their own theological views but the idea is very foreign to them.

I’m certainly glad Barbara Bush’s phone call to his wife failed to move him into running.

“I’m certainly glad Barbara Bush’s phone call to his wife failed to move him into running.”

That’s too bad. He needs to run every day.

Christie would surely have qualified on that basis.

Newt and Cain are both better at that then Criste plus much sounder on political principals. Democrat Lite Establishment is the worst possible choice for the GOP in 2012.

We do not need any more Establishment candidates.

I was afraid when I heard that Barbara Bush called his wife to push him to run. Biden is not happy as this was his guy.
