Why can’t we do both? Besides, it’s the rats that are holding this up. We can’t wait until the stars align themselves. The crises is getting closer and closer.

RINO! Jumped the shark! Bring on Sarah Reagan! /s
I think I agree with Cain on this one.

I disagree. Every time we reach a decision point where cuts are the right thing to do, the Democrats scream and stamp their feet. They just want to keep running up the credit card and never take responsibility for dealing with the out of control spending. Stand your ground GOP. Force the cuts. We don't have unlimited credit.

What keeps FEMA from being treated as a stand alone bill with nothing else riding on it?

I thought the issue was that the Dems had pushed a bunch of green-jobs crap into the FEMA bill. Not funding the green jobs scam is a fight worth having, IMO.

"Stop playing with people's tragedies these are real people were talking about," So I take it that, as long as we have FEMA to come rushing in with taxpayer money regardless of how stupid the risk, we don't need an insurance industry to manage competing risks and we don't need people preparing for risks. Let the Federal government decide what constitutes acceptable risks and bail people out regardless. Right?
Cain should know better.

Herman, you forget that Lucy always pulls the football away.
Fund now for cuts later...and later never comes.

I think he knows that already. Let’s say the GOP to be good sports initiates a FEMA-only bill in the House. By the time the Senate gets through with it, it will have a ton of Rat sweeteners in it. This is where Boehner should show America what the Rats did to this serious bill.

I don’t.
The problem is the democrats are controlling the story again.
Republicans passed the bill. The democrats are the ones holding it up because funding comes from things like the Chevy Volt any solyndra. We would not be having this problem if Zero and the democrats had come up with a budget.
It’s a winning message if someone would just pick it up and run with it.
To: Bigtigermike
I see what he is doing. The Dems are using this as a weapon so he is advising to take the weapon away from them while keeping our side of the issue on the table. Interesting strategic move.

TWC was hammering away at this early this AM.... Interupted the weather to educate us with their “experts” that any shutdown would hurt FEMA and thus all the people who desperately need their (our) money.
TWC sucks.

True, unless the bill puts limits on what FEMA can do with the dough, this is asking for trouble. Obama is not your average fox. He’s not just cunning, he’s evil.

These are the issues where Cain is weakest... he still trusts rats and the republican elite leadership... he still thinks the word of politicians in DC is worth something... poor Cain... I really do like the guy but he needs some serious management help to get him up to speed on these vermin elite that we have ruling over us.

"insurance industry to manage competing risks"Most Freepers are probably too young to remember the pre-FEMA time when "insurance" was how these disasters were handled.
